10 Qualities To Pray For Starting A New School Year

Whether you are returning to school, beginning college, starting a new chapter in your life, or just feel like you're doing the same things everyday; don't forget to pray. Pray for qualities that can brighten your horizon and build self esteem.

1. Strength. I pray to stay strong throughout the challenges I am faced. I pray I stay strong balancing school, work, family, and my social life. I pray for strength to lend a helping hand. I pray to stand strong for myself and for you.

2. Faithfulness. I pray I stay faithful to the man upstairs. I pray I stay faithful to my other half. I pray I stay faithful to my family and friends and am there for them when they need me. Be there throughout the good and the bad. I pray that people feel welcome to come to me and can rely on me.

3. Guidance. I pray I stay on the path you have created for me. I pray for guidance as I am faced with temptations and challenges throughout the year. I pray I stay true to You, Lord. I pray that I take advantage of the opportunities you present me for a chance to learn and grow. I pray you guide me to places I am needed to make a difference.

4. Patience. I pray to stay patient and understand to take in every moment. I can get caught up in the moment and say "I can't wait to graduate." I will never get this time back, so I need patience to enjoy the college experience. I need patience when I do not understand God's plan for me. I pray for patience because most things cannot happen overnight.

5. Wisdom. I pray for wisdom to know right from wrong. I pray to learn more and more each day to become more understanding and more valuable as a resource. I pray to understand the consequences of my actions. I pray for wisdom to make the best decisions I can.

6. Courage. I pray for courage so I may conquer my fears. I pray that courage will bring me opportunities and chances I have never dreamed of; and use that courage to accept the chances. I pray I have the courage to stand up for my beliefs and the courage to make this world a better place.

7. Acceptance. I pray for acceptance because there will be days that will not go as planned whatsoever. Accept the bad days and take them as lessons learned. Accept God's plan for you even if it is nothing expected. Accept other people and love them unconditionally.

8. Gratefulness. I pray to be grateful and thankful for the good days, the bad days, the painful days, the glorious days. I pray to have a good attitude through it all and to be absolutely grateful for the people in my path and the opportunities given to me.

9. Confidence. I pray for confidence because sometimes the only limit is yourself. Your mind will always believe everything you tell it. Feed your mind with faith and confidence. Believe in yourself.

10. Perseverance. I pray to remember everything happens for a reason. Learn, learn, and continue to learn throughout life. I know I would not be given a task I could not handle. I pray to maintain a positive outlook on every scenario.

I also pray for adventure. May my college years be a time of growth and expand my knowledge of this beautiful world created. I ask for forgiveness for all the times I have let people down and pray for a better tomorrow. I am grateful for each and every breath I am granted.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
