10 Problems That Subway Workers Experience

Subway has its ups, downs, and funnies.

If you work at Subway, then you know about all or most of these problems we have. It's infuriating and some are even hilarious.

1. People who get everything on their sandwiches.

I've literally had someone get a meatball on flatbread and get everything on it, then complain to me when the bread is soggy or it's messy. Like there's no way to fix that. Or, they usually just at me as I try to close any of the sandwiches.

2. Say yes to multiple options.

Me: What kind of cheese would you like?

Customer: Yes.

Me: We have American, provolone, swiss, pepper jack or shredded.

Customer: Yes.

3. Customers who order while on the phone.

This is the most annoying thing ever. Like can you not hang up a phone call for at least 3 minutes or at least let the person behind you go first.

4. Customers that come in and tell you everything they want in 10 seconds.

Customers will literally stand in the meat section tell you what kind of sandwich and veggies they want before even telling you the bread or if there's cheese or if it's toasted. Like how am I suppose to make a sandwich without knowing the bread.

5. Chipotle.

I hear so many different ways to say this word. It's Chi-pot-ley. Not chippotle or "that spicy mayo"

6. Meatball on flatbread with double meat and all the veggies.

Literally what I said above on #1.

7. Hi, How are you?

Me: Hi, welcome to Subway, how are you?

Customer: Yeah, I want a Turkey on white bread.

Me:

8. Coupons.

I don't think customers understand that coupons have codes on them to let our store know if we can take them or not and it's also OPTIONAL. I've had customers cuss me out and threaten me over a coupon I couldn't take before. Stop with your childish act and just pay for your food. You're only getting like a dollar off anyway.

9. Stupid questions.

I literally had a person come through the drive thru one time that was like "Which sandwiches come with the meat and cheese?" or like we have a deal on all the footlongs being 6 dollars and yes on the board it has any in big letters but I still get the question, "Is it any footlong?"

10. Drive Thru.

Don't even get me started on this. This is the most annoying thing a subway could have. Mine is literally right next to a train track and it's hard to hear customers when it's going by. Not only that, but people are even more ridiculous in the drive thru. If you've never been inside come inside first because we do it the same way as coming inside.

Rant over.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

Students walking on a sunny college campus with trees and buildings.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
