The 10 Prettiest Spots on Campus

Tech is renowned for its beautiful campus. The juxtaposition of the city with so much green space leads to attractive views no matter where you walk. Here’s a list of the top 10 prettiest spots on campus:

10. Tech Square

Tech’s iconic square is right in the middle of the city, yet still offers a bit of green space to study or relax in.

9. The Mickey Mouse Garden

Hidden next to Skiles, the Mickey Mouse Garden is a peaceful respite just steps away from one of the busiest spots on campus. Whether you go to see the leaves turn in the fall or the buds blossom in the spring, you’re guaranteed an amazing sight.

8. The Top Floor of the CRC

The CRC is a great place to get in shape and offers a delightful view. If you can make it to the top floor, you can run, bike, row, and lift, all the while overlooking downtown. If you work out at night, you can even get a view of the Ferris Wheel in Centennial Park changing colors.

7. The Campanile

One of the most popular and well-known spots on campus, the Campanile has some of the best views that Tech has to offer. Not to mention, the water is a perfect place to cool off in the hot summer time!

 6. Klaus

One of the busiest areas on campus is also one of the prettiest! The glass of Klaus and the symmetry of its garden make it gorgeous - especially as the leaves turn color in the fall.

5. The BioTech Quad

This quiet corner of campus is a great place to sit back and get some studying done. The trees and glassy, industrial buildings make this a beautiful spot to sit or walk around in.

4. The Top of the Ford Building

If you’re lucky you’ve been able to climb to the roof of the Ford building to see one of best views of Atlanta. You can see the entire city from this lofty perch, and it is especially gorgeous lit up at night

3. The Football Stadium

The Bobby Dodd Stadium at Historic Grand Field is, in my opinion, one of the coolest stadiums in college football. Where else can you catch a game of football, celebrate Tech’s rich history of traditions, and get a beautiful view of the skyline?

2. Tech Tower

This view is worth the walk. Whether it’s in the middle of summer or the depths of winter, Tech Tower’s sweeping trees, green lawns, view of the skyline, and historic brick buildings make for beautiful views.

1. The Culc Rooftop Garden

The best place to catch a view of Tech’s campus and the Atlanta skyline is, of course, the rooftop garden. It’s the perfect place to sip on your Starbucks, study, or kick back and relax. During the day, night, or even at sunset, this view is hard to beat.

Happy exploring!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
