Better Living

There are certain things that we love about certain beaches: Atlantic City, New Jersey is popular for the Tropicana Casino and Resort. The Carolinas caters to family-friendly beaches, and of course Seaside Heights, New Jersey is home to one of America's favorite reality shows on MTV, "Jersey Shore."

Every year, my family vacations at Ocean City, Maryland which isn't a common spot for a lot of my friends. Sure Jersey is better for people in their 20s, but I love OCMD simply because there is something to do for everyone in the family.

Here is a list of 10 places to hit in OCMD for every member of the family:

1. Carousel Ice Skating Rink

This is a fun family activity that will help cool you off. Located at the Carousel Oceanfront Hotel, guests can skate for four dollars and non-guests can skate for five dollars. The rink is open from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. which gives you just enough time to enjoy the beach and skate.

2. Seacrets

Seacrets is a distillery, bar, and night club all in one. Whether you're looking to try craft beer, getting some drinks at a happy hour or dancing the night away, Seacrets has it all. The night club also provides live entertainment like State College, PA favorites Go Go Gadjet and My Hero Zero.

3. Mother's Cantina

This Tex-Mex style restaurant is too good to pass up. With great food and great margaritas, their claim to fame is the "Best Happy Hour in Ocean City, Maryland" with $1.50 drafts, $3.50 house margaritas and $1.75 tacos every day from 4 p.m to 7 p.m. as well as other specials throughout the week. This is a must-stop for your Tex-Mex needs.

4. Jolly Roger Amusement Parks

If you have kids (or are a kid at heart) Jolly Roger's is the place for you. The amusement park is open all day and not only has your typical amusement park rides, but also a go-kart raceway— for kids and adults — and a water park, so you never run out of things to do.

5. Ristorante Antipasti

This authentic Italian cuisine is one of the top rated restaurants in Ocean City. The fine food paired with the lively spirit of Fausto DiCarlo, the restaurant's owner, is a guarantee for an amazing experience. If you love seasfood, you're in even more luck.

6. H2O Under 21 Dance Club

If you're not 21 and you're over the amusement park and mini golf scene, there's always H2O. H2O has themed parties, such as neon highlighter or foam parties that are perfect for those of us who aren't 21.

7. Fractured Prune

If you're sick of basic donut choices, Fractured Prune has so much more to offer. There are so many different unique flavors to choose from, you'll have a hard time deciding which to choose.

8. The Boardwalk

The boardwalk is a staple of any beach. Between all of the restaurants, the Ripley's Believe It or Not! museum, and of course the shops, your walk won't be disappointing.

9. Coconuts Beach Bar and Grill

Coconuts is part of the Castle in the Sand Hotel and has the fastest happy hour on the beach. From 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. daily, they offer a two for one drink special and while it's quick, it's so worth it. Their crush menu is fantastic and will leave you wanting more.

10. OC Wasabi

If you're at the beach craving Japanese cuisine, OC Wasabi is the place to go. Equipped with a bar and an insane menu, you can stuff yourself with enough delicious sushi to satisfy.
