10 Places To Go In New York This Summer

Tired of all the dull finals you have going on? Are you so ready for summer to finally begin? During a study break, plan a fun summer trip with your family or friends that is both convenient and affordable! During the summer months, traveling to another state and having to book a hotel room and other activities can become very costly. Luckily for us New Yorkers, we don't have to travel any further than a quick train ride over to NYC. Summer is approaching and everyone will be coming home from school. What is a better way to catch up with family members than to go on a quick family trip? These places are both easy to get to and a super fun way to kick off the summer by spending time with family!

1. Statue of Liberty

Take a short ferry ride over to Ellis Island and be awed by the beautiful structure that is the Statue of Liberty. Throughout the summer, visitors are allowed to also tour Ellis Island, a place where so many of our ancestors have gone through to be able to live and become legalized citizens in the United States.

2. Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum

Located on West 42nd Street, Madame Tussaud's is located right in the heart of Times Square. It features many different celebrities as well as important figures throughout history in wax form. Take your family or friends there to pose in front of and have a fun-filled day with wax versions of your idols! After touring the museum, go out to lunch or dinner at any of the great restaurants nearby in Times Square!

3. The Sugar Factory

Located at 835 Washington Street, the Sugar Factory is one of the most popular and talked about restaurants in all of New York City. Known for their delicious drinks, it also features delicious food for an all around perfect meal. It is located right near the High Line, so stop by before/after take your family/friends sightseeing!

4. Museum of Natural History

Located on the Upper West Side, right across the street from Central Park on Central Park West and 79th Street, the Museum of Natural History provides both an enjoyable as well as an educational experience. It features many different exhibits so that everyone can find enjoyment.

5. The Bronx Zoo

The beautiful Bronx Zoo, located at 2300 Southern Boulevard in the Bronx, provides visitors with a variety of animals from all around the world to be able to see and study. It is also located close to Arthur Avenue (Little Italy), and the gorgeous Botanical Gardens.

6. Central Park Zoo

In case you don't have time to go to the Bronx Zoo and are already in the New York City, Central Park Zoo is another amazing zoo located right in Central Park. It also provides its visitors with a wide array of animals from all over the world, giving just as good of an experience to visitors as the Bronx Zoo!

7. Ripley's Believe It or Not

Ripley's Believe It or Not contains a collection of different artifacts and curiosities from all around the world. If you are willing to be severely creeped out or amazed, then Ripley's is the place for you.

8. Any Broadway Show

Who doesn't love a good Broadway show? There are so many different shows on Broadway now for families to go see. When searching for tickets, be sure to check for special deals so you can enjoy a great show without breaking the bank.

9. Coney Island

Coney Island provides a great, family oriented atmosphere that has been around for over a century. Coney Island provides a great amusement park for families with kids of all ages and families can even spend the day at the beach nearby as well.

10. Museum of Modern Art

For those families who love art, the MoMA is a great art museum located on W 53rd Street. It provides a very enjoyable experience for any family!
