10 Pinterest Crock Pot Meals That Will Change Your Life
Pinch of Yu,

Pinterest does it again. Whether you are a college student pinching pennies, or a mom trying to keep everyone in your family alive, buying and using a crockpot is essential to both your well-being and sanity. I should also start by saying, that my mom is a ROCKSTAR when it comes to crock-potting, and she definitely passed down the love of crock-potting to me. Whether it's soup, an appetizer or main dish, she knows the best combinations that somehow fill the house with the sweet aroma. Another amazing thing about crockpots? The prep work is minimal. If you haven't hopped on the crockpot bandwagon, this article is bound to make you fall in love at first bite. Here are 10 Pinterest crockpot meals that will change your life.

1. Pulled Pork

Can you say YUM?? Pulled pork is one of my all time favorite Midwest meals. Add a yummy side of green beans or corn-on-the-cob and BAM, you have a meal fit for a king.

2. Chicken Wild Rice Soup

Just imagine the aroma of walking into your door after a long day in the classroom or office. This is ultimate comfort soup.

3. Hamburger Queso Dip

The ultimate Sunday football appetizer (or meal if you choose to indulge). Hamburger + salsa + cheese? Yes, please! Serve with tortilla chips or Doritos (if you feeling extra cheesy) and watch this dish go fast!

4. Chicken Fajitas

There are few things better than fajitas- but they take way too much prep work for people with busy lives. This recipe requires a little chopping, then BAM. Hours later you have deliciously seasoned chicken and veggies, so good you don't even need a tortilla.

5. Smothered Pork Chops

Not everyone likes pork chops, but if you do you'll love this recipe.

6. Chicken Tortilla Soup

This is probably one of my favorite soups in the history of ever. If you have leftovers, put it in a Ziploc freezer bag and freeze it until you want it! Just heat over the stove until hot! Don't forget to crunch up tortilla chips and add them in for extra crunch.

7. Parmesan Ranch Chex Mix

This recipe is both addicting and delicious. Plus, it lasts for such a time and is an awesome go-to snack to take with you anywhere.

8. Bacon-Wrapped Smokies

Anything wrapped in bacon is sure to be a success. This recipe makes an awesome appetizer, but let's be honest..it will probably end up being the main dish. What better way to spend a Sunday then watching football while munching on these!

9. Chicken Pot Pie

My mouth is watering just looking at this picture. Missing home? Or you family? This is bound to make that pain a little bit duller. Thanks Pinterest for giving us the ultimate comfort meal.

10. Monkey Bread

Did you say dessert in a crockpot? Heck yes. This recipe is so simple and so delicious. Whip it up when entertaining guests, or make it for an epic ladies night.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
