10 Phases of Black Friday Shopping

It's that time of year again, Thanksgiving! So that means one thing: Black Friday Shopping. Just kidding! There is so much we should be thankful for like our friends, family, and everything else we have been blessed with. Black Friday is an American made day dated back to the 1960's. It is a day known to kick off Christmas shopping. Stores compete to have the best sales, and people compete to receive the best discounts. Some stores open late on Thanksgiving day, making people stay out until 2 a.m. Are you really American if you don't go shopping after Thanksgiving?

Here are 10 phases of Black Friday Shopping:

1. Scouting for the best sales

You have to check and see what stores are offering what and when. You need to know the time they open, the time they close, when they have their best sales, ect.

2. Mentally preparing for the chaos

Black Friday brings out the crazy in people. You need to be prepared for everything at any time. But, after it's all over you'll look back and be glad about the purchases you made. You realize that this time is for you, and you cherish it each year. You just have to "treat yo self" sometimes.

3. Dressing for whatever the weather brings about

I feel sorry for those shoppers that live up North. May the warmth of your coats and scarves be with you. But, rain could be anywhere at any time, let's hope for a bright sunny day!

4. Lining up for your favorite store

It's 4 a.m. and your favorite opens at 6 a.m. You have been waiting to get those wedges ever since you saw them online over the summer but were too expensive to buy at the time. There's already a huge line, but you want those Black Friday sales.

5. Sprinting to the destination

GO GO GO! They only have ONE pair of those wedges you wanted left! It's now or never! Don't let anyone slow you down!

6. Snatching the last item on the shelf

You were there first, so it belongs to you! Don't let crazy shoppers tell you other wise. First come, first serve.

7. Making out of the store alive

You grabbed your items, but can you make it out of the store without anyone stealing your shopping goods? Here's a tip: look confident and no one will approach you.

8. Realizing what you just went through

You did it. You made it out alive. You look left and right and people are still streaming in and out of the stores.

8. Surveying the damage

Only an hour has passed, but the store is empty. Anything and everything on sale has been bought and stored for Christmas. You look down at your receipt, maybe you faint or gasp, but it's Christmas right...?

9. Taking a nap

You've been up since 3 a.m., or maybe even earlier if you started at midnight. You deserve a nice long nap.

10. Cyber Monday

You realize you didn't grab that tie you wanted for your dad. Good thing Cyber Monday is a thing, but this time around you'll be nice and warm with a coffee mug in hand. In a week, you'll look back at everything you accomplished.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
