English majors (and people that just enjoy literature and writing in general) are often seen as dull and boring, which can make them difficult to shop for. But contrary to popular belief, they can be quite witty! If you're having trouble shopping for bibliophile or English major, look no further:

1. 642 Thing To Write About - San Francisco Writers' Grotto - $17

This diary (of sorts) gives writers 642 prompts to write about. They vary from fiction to elaboration, but it's really up to the writer on what they want to write about.

2. Anything from OutOfPrintClothing.com (Prices vary)

Out Of Print Clothing is a magical place full of literary gifts and merchandise that any reader will love. Find out their favorite book and buy them a t-shirt or get something as simple as a mug!

3. Litographs - litographs.com (Prices vary)

A litograph is an entire book created into an image. The words form a beautiful image that is either from or directly related to the book and they'll love it. They come in forms of posters and sweaters and t-shirts.

4. A booklight

Simple, yet absolutely necessary. Many readers and English majors love to read before bed but aren't able to because of the lack of light. A booklight makes this east - clip it to the back of your books and read away! These can be found in a variety of different places, but you could always save yourself the time and go to Amazon.

5. Some nice journals or notepads.

Chances are, your reader or English major likes to jot things down, or maybe they have a journal! Either way, these can be useful for note taking or just plain old doodling. Maybe they have an idea about a book they just read that they'd like to write down. Some nice journals are Moleskine, which are available on Amazon and Target.

6. Some adorable bookmarks from this adorable Etsy shop - $7.58 + shipping

The Etsy shop "ReadandWonder" sell adorable bookmarks that are tailored so trending or widely favorited books and tv shows. Obviously, the ones above are Harry Potter themed and this is just one set of many!

7. A nice tote bag.

Readers everywhere are known for carrying a book with them everywhere they go (I can sometimes be guilty of this) and their bags sometimes just don't fit a book, whether it be hardcover or paperback. Tote bags can be nice for carrying around your books and other necessities when out and about! The one above is from

8. A nice edition of their favorite books.

We all judge books by their covers, especially those of us that love to read . This may not go for all English majors, but chances are, they have a favorite classic. Classics have hundred of different covers, some of which can be absolutely stunning. You can never have too many copies of your favorite book! However, some editions can be pricey, so if you choose this route, there are places like BookDepository (free shipping, standard priced books) and Thriftbooks (Cheaper books, standard shipping price) to find either contemporary or vintage covers for a cheap price!

9. Their favorite celebrities memoir

Do they have a favorite celebrity? That's a dumb question - everyone does, or at least someone they strongly admire. If they love to read, and they love a celebrity, it's a safe bet that they'll read the memoir. You could also do this for really anyone, even those that don't read, but there's no bet that they'll actually read.

10. If all else fails, a gift card

Pretty standard, right? If you can't find the time to pick some of these up, or just don't want to a gift card to a bookstore couldn't hurt.

Happy holidays!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
