Nothing makes a party go from zero to 100 real quick like awesome music. A party isn't a party without music, so it's crucial that whoever is DJ-ing for the evening makes the crowd happy and pumped. There are so many tunes that should be played, but I'll condense this list into to a few key songs I think every party needs to play at least once.
1. "Yoncé/Partition" - Beyoncé
Beyoncé is the queen, no doubt about it. Partition has two parts: Yoncé, which gets everyone hyped up in the beginning and Partition, which is more calming but still has a great beat to dance along to.
2. "Wobble" - V.I.C.
I like to describe the Wobble as a more college-friendly version of the Cupid Shuffle. It has a simple dance, known as the Wobble, and is extremely catchy.
3. "Yeah!" - Usher
I have yet to go to a party where this isn't played. It's such a fun song and everybody enjoys it.
4. "All About That Bass (Crysis Remix)" - Meghan Trainor
Remixes can be iffy for people, but if you're looking to spice up the party, this remix is a great way to break the barriers between trap and pop.
5. "Turn Down for What" - DJ Snake, Lil Jon
Lil Jon has been playing at parties and events since we were awkward middle schoolers, so of course this song is only fitting for our generation. It's basically college partying in a nutshell.
6. "Dark Horse" - Katy Perry
Possibly one of Katy's best songs, it's different from most of her traditional pop music. It has a good, steady beat, and Juicy J kills it when his verse comes in.
7. "Black Widow" - Iggy Azalea feat. Rita Orta
Iggy Azalea has been on fire with her new album, and Black Widow is always a favorite in the crowd.
8. "Don't Tell 'Em" - Jeremih feat. YG
I think the whole "girl, you know I'm from Chicago" part gets a lot of people when this song comes on, but besides that, this song is great for dancing or just sitting back and enjoying the party scene.
9. "Live for the Night" - Krewella
Well, just about any Krewella song could be used, but I had to pick just one. Krewella is brand new and full of life in their music. They basically make the best party music.
10. "Shake It Off" - Taylor Swift
Okay, I'm not a Taylor Swift fan, but everybody just knows the lyrics to this song. Everybody jumps up and down, screaming the lyrics at each others' faces, and whether you enjoy it or not, just the pure fun of moving to it makes the atmosphere crazy.
