10 'One Tree Hill' Quotes You Didn't Realize You Needed
POPSUGAR

"One Tree Hill" has given me more feelings than any other TV show I have watched. I'm not embarrassed to admit it. I've cried like a baby more times than I can count, smiled so hard my face hurt, and laughed pretty hard, too. (I also obnoxiously sing along to the theme song, but we'll keep that a secret). Sometimes the show tries a little too hard to create drama and situations get ridiculous, but "One Tree Hill" fans love it nonetheless.

This isn't a typical show, in any way. The show proves that sometimes a little hope can take you far. It has shown me much more about life than I could have ever imagined, and has sometimes made me feel better. So if you're having a rough time, are unsure about life, or just need a little guidance; here you go.

1.

2. "It's the oldest story in the world. One day you're seventeen and planning for someday, and then quietly, without you ever really noticing, someday is today, and that someday is yesterday and this is your life."

3."You know what? Tragedies happen. What are you going to do? Give up? Quit? No. I realize now that when your heart breaks, you’ve got fight like hell to make sure you're still alive. Because you are. And that pain you feel? That's life. The confusion and fear, that's there to remind you that somewhere out there is something better. And that something is worth fighting for."

4. "If you look close enough to the world around you, you might find someone like you. Someone trying to find their way. Someone trying to find their self. Sometimes it seems like you are the only one in the world who's struggling, who's frustrated, unsatisfied, barely getting by. But that feeling's a lie. And if you just hold on, just find the courage to face it all for another day, someone or something will find you and make it all okay. Because we all need a little help sometimes. We need someone to remind us that it won't always be this way. That someone is out there. And that someone will find you."

5. "So don't be afraid to make mistakes, stumble & fall, because most of the time, the greatest rewards come from doing the things that scare you the most. Maybe you'll get everything you wish for. Maybe you'll get more than you ever could have imagined. Who knows where life will take you. The road is long, and in the end the journey is the destination."

6. "The rest of your life is being shaped right now. By the dreams you chase. The choices you make. And the person you decide to be."

7. "What's more important? What we become, or how we become it?"

8.

9. "If you miss them, that means you're lucky. It means you had someone special in your life, someone worth missing."

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
