Don't get me wrong, the early 2000's were a great time for music and movies. I wish I could say the same for fashion trends though. Looking back on how some of my favorite celebrities and I used to dress, I have to ask myself, "WHY DID WE EVER THINK THAT WAS OK?!" We may have thought we were cool then, but it's hilarious to see how ridiculous these styles and trends are now.

1. Streaky highlights.

NSYNC was notorious for their crazy hairstyles and infamous blonde and red highlights. How us girls found this attractive is still a mystery to me.

2. Layering our tank tops.

If you were cool in middle school or high school, you were definitely guilty of this ridiculous trend. I'm not sure who started this trend or when. All I know is that layering my favorite Abercrombie & Fitch tank tops was one of my favorite past times.

3. Wearing dresses over flared jeans.

This trend was the definition of glamour in the early 2000's. Every famous celebrity rocked this trend on the red carpet during movie premieres, award shows, and more.

4. Gauchos.

One of my favorite trends of the early 2000's were gauchos, the breezy, comfortable, yet stylish pants that you could dress up or down. Don't lie. You know you had a pair in black and brown.

5. Rhinestones, rhinestones, and MORE rhinestones.

Everything from head to toe was bedazzled and covered in sparkles. I guess we really liked glitter in the early 2000's.

6. Ponchos.

The perfect touch to any outfit was a pink and sparkly poncho. Hilary Duff rocked this trend along with most of the others in this list. Thanks Hilary for your excellent fashion sense.

7. Jean Skirts.

Jean skirts or skorts (eww) with a cute tank top were the perfect summer outfit back in the early 2000's.

8. Asymmetrical jersey skirts.

Because symmetrical skirts were just too conservative.

9. Shrugs.

The half sweater look was too cute back then. The perfect accessory to any dress or formal outfit.

10. All denim everything.

Need I say more?

Parks and Rec

We all know that Parks and Recreation is one of the greatest shows ever to air on TV. As we watched every episode, we all found a piece of us in each character (even Jerry). From the moment we met the pit, to the time we saw it flourish into a beautiful park, we all had developed a little bit of Pawnee, Indiana in our hearts.

If I have learned one thing in my lifetime, it is that friends are a privilege. No one is required to give you their company and yet there is some sort of shared connection that keeps you together. And from that friendship, you may even find yourself lucky enough to have a few more friends, thus forming a group. Here are just a few signs that prove your current friend group is the ultimate friend group.

When it comes to television, there’s very few sets of on-screen siblings that a lot of us can relate to. Only those who have grown up with siblings knows what it feels like to fight, prank, and love a sibling. Ross and Monica Geller were definitely overbearing and overshared some things through the series of "Friends," but they captured perfectly what real siblings feel in real life. Some of their antics were funny, some were a little weird but all of them are completely relatable to brothers and sisters everywhere.
