Fayetteville is a funky town located in northwest Arkansas, filled with unique and homegrown spots.

Fayetteville is home to the University of Arkansas. With students everywhere, this town is full of unique spots. You can find anything from awesome thrift stores to beautiful places outdoors to hike and snap a good Instagram photo. Here are a few places you should check out.

1. Fayetteville's Funky Yardsale

If you need anything from tacky Christmas sweaters, handmade necklaces or old records, Fayetteville's Funky Yardsale is the place for you. This funky and spunky spot in Fayetteville is the perfect one stop shop. It is filled with booths from different vendors and everything is one of a kind. Also, they have the most polite cats.

2. Dickson Street Bookstore

This is just the spot for literature fanatics. The Dickson Street Bookstore contains hundreds of thousands of books. Every genre is represented, from poetry to religion to science fiction.

3. Mount Sequoyah

Mount Sequoyah is one of the most beautiful spots in town. This is an awesome place to go and reflect. Mount Sequoyah is also always a great place to take a super artsy Instagram photo.

4. Bikes, Blues & BBQ

Every September, thousands of bikers roll into town for Bikes, Blues and BBQ. The bikes park in unconventional places, the blues is good and the BBQ is worth facing Dickson Street for.

5. Lights of the Ozarks

The Lights of the Ozarks light up our town square so beautifully. The lights magnificently light up the Fayetteville square for the holidays.

6. Hammontrees

Hammontrees is the spot to go to for all things grilled cheese. On the menu, they also offer tasty soups, hot dogs and sweet potato fries.

(PS: Get the bacon gouda sweet potato fries, they are totally worth it!)

7. The Painted Pigs

Most wonder why these beautifully painted pigs are all over the city. They are apart of the PIGShibition. This is a community project promoting local literacy issues and local artist's work.

8. Georges Majestic Lounge

From "The Eli Young Band" to "The Oh Hellos," Georges is the place for all things music. Georges Majestic Lounge is the longest running club and live music venue in the state of Arkansas.

9. The Anchor

The Anchor is the perfect spot for all things home decor and gifting. This small shop sells products created and produced locally. The anchor is the perfect place for seasonal decor, as well.

10. Arsagas

Craving a crepe in Fayetteville? Arsagas is the place to be. On the menu, they offer a variety of coffees, crepes, salads and bagels.
