At the end of every year, people all around the world begin preparing lists of what they need to change about themselves, what they need to do better--- their new years resolutions. These lists very often consist of one popular item: loose weight. Sure being fit is a great resolution (although we all know the gyms start getting empty again as January winds down), but there are also many other resolutions we could all stand to add to our list:
1) Not waiting until the last minute to make plans (since this often does not work out well or even at all)
2) Not doing the thing where you see a text from your friend but are too engulfed in a netflix binge or some other inconsequential activity so you answer it two days later
3) FLOSSING
4) Holding the door open for strangers
5) Remembering that you have something called a turn signal and the people in the cars around you will become very upset if you don't use it
6) Reading more
7) Remembering to be grateful for the little things
8) Not saying "I'll do it tomorrow" because it will turn into "I'll do it next year" and then end up on this list and perpetuate the idea that you can only make changes every new calendar year when time is actually a human construct
9) Not being awkward when you make accidental eye contact with people you know at the grocery store
10) Remembering that everyone does not share the same opinion as you and that's ok, really
