As a college student, and as a human in general, I have a great love for food. I'm fortunate enough that I get to live in a state that is home to so much great food. Whether it's a specific food item or a dish from a certain restaurant, I've chosen to share ten of Jersey's best food options. I urge you to try each one even if you gain a couple pounds, it's okay that's what the gym is for. Live a little, mangia!

1. Kohr's

As so perfectly stated on their website, Kohr's has been, "a staple on the Jersey shore since 1923". Like a majority of people who have visited the Jersey shore, I grew up having to have a cone from Kohr's before leaving for the day.

2. Taylor Ham/Pork Roll

Though Taylor Ham is available in New Jersey and the surrounding states, it holds an ongoing debate in the heart of this great state. If you're from New Jersey then you don't just participate in the debate for fun, but because Taylor Ham is so delicious and even better on a bagel sandwich.

3. Blueberries

Not only are Blueberries a totally yummy fruit, but they got started here in the great state of New Jersey back in 1911! If you're looking for a fun day in this great state then visit Hillview Farms in Gillette, New Jersey during July to pick your own Blueberries!

4. Pizza

At this point you're probably saying to yourself, "I can get Pizza in any state and probably most countries," but everybody knows that New Jersey is home to the best slice. Though people from New York will try to argue with you on this I can tell you for a fact that New Jersey is where the best Pizza lives. (Unless you're looking for greasy slices or odd tasting pies from Disney World)

5. Disco Fries

Disco Fries are a New Jersey delicacy, French Fries topped with brown gravy and cheese. Being most people's go to drunk food I'm sure you can find Disco Fries in every single one of New Jersey's 525 diners. PS, they're just as delicious sober.

6. Saltwater Taffy

Created in Atlantic City, New Jersey in the 1880s Saltwater Taffy is a yummy shore candy that I promise you is not salty at all.

7. B&W Crumb Cake

Located in Hackensack, New Jersey B&W Bakery is the place to visit for the best Crumb Cake in New Jersey. The cake portion is never dry and the best part, the crumbs, are sweet and sugary as ever.

8. "Steaks"

Speaking of drunk food, Steaks Unlimited in Seaside Heights, New Jersey is a delicious eatery often frequented from twelve to three am. They're known for their cheese balls, literally fried balls of cheese, and their delicious cheesesteaks. They even stuff the cheese balls in the sandwich, which is totally worth it even if you throw up at five am because of all the deep fried food.

9. Tomatoes

Of course the garden state is known for it's Jersey fresh tomatoes, which if we're being completely honest with each other, I don't have much to say about because I do not like tomatoes. But if you like them then go you, come to New Jersey!

10. Bagels

I myself do not live away at college, but any of my peers that do constantly complain about how much they miss Jersey Bagels. My grandmother who lives in Tennessee freezes Jersey Bagels to bring back home with her when she visits. Clearly Bagels from New Jersey are worth every penny.

BON APPETIT!

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.
