Now that most colleges have let out, and we all have started to head home... We as college students find ourselves with a lot more free time as we adjust back to home life after a fast paced year at college. With so much extra time on our hands, we partake in many other activities such as sports, jobs, and various hobbies. However, one of the greatest time-fillers all college students advocate for is Netflix. Binge-watching Netflix can prove to be relaxing, interesting, and revitalizing. However, what happens when we have already watched too many shows? As we all scramble for suggestions, I got you covered as I will suggest my top 10 series on Netflix to binge watch this summer.
1. How to Get Away with Murder
This is one of those TV shoes that is perfect for binge watching. Each episode ends on a cliff, forcing you to keep pressing that “continue watching” button. The show is about a group of lawyers trying to solve cases while wrapped up in a shocking crime of their own.
2. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
This is a witty, feel-good Netflix original series about a girl that was kept by a cult-leader in a bunker for 15 years. As she was rescued by the police, she is now adjusting back to life after 15 years underground in her own quirky style along with her unique friends and new connections.
3. Friday Night Lights
Friday Night Lights is a classic and everyone needs to watch it at least once. It chronicles a high school football team in Dillion, Texas. It is so interesting to watch the characters grow and mature as they face many difficult situations.
4. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
This is a hilarious sitcom about five friends running an Irish bar in South Philadelphia. It has 11 total seasons, so it is a commitment, but it is full of laughs and is not a show that you have to pay too close attention to understand.
5. Parks and Recreation
Amy Poehler never disappoints as Parks and Recreation will keep you laughing with its witty sense of humor and funny characters. Whether you relate to the peppy Tom Haverford, or the monotone Ron Swanson, this show will captivate all audiences.
6. Bob's Burgers
This show follows an odd family as they own their own burger shop and get into various situations. The show does a great job of harnessing “dumb-humor” and helps relax your mind, while making you laugh.
7. The Carrie Diaries
The Carrie Diaries is a spunky spin-off of Sex and The City, chronicling Carrie’s time while she was young. The show displays the teen fashion intern as she navigates life in the city as well as living a normal high school life.
8. Prison Break
Although it is not a show for one who cannot pay attention, it is a riveting show none the less. The show is grounded on an innocent man being sent to death row and his brothers battle to get him out, from the inner walls of the same prison.
9. Breaking Bad
This is a must watch if you haven’t already seen it. It is a classic, there are so many mysteries, plot twists, and cliff-hangers. Viewers follow the life of Walter White, an ex-chemistry teacher diagnosed with terminal cancer, and his ex-drug dealer student Jesse Pinkman as they take on the meth industry.
10. Sons Of Anarchy
This is a lesser known show, but a great one. As a motorcycle gang battles the police force they find difficulties with opposing gangs, other criminals, and even within their own groups and families. Although it contains violence, it is worth the watch as it has a very strong plot and is written very well.
