Now that the semester is over, you are probably wondering what your purpose of life is beside writing essays and constantly studying. Breaks give you time for some rest and relaxation, and what better way to relax than cuddling with some hot cocoa and some Netflix. Here is a list compiled of shows that must make it into your binge watching sessions, with the website in which you can find it. Enjoy!

1. Downton Abbey

If you have a refined style, this show is the one for you. It adds so many combinations of drama, romance, and British accents. This story line will have you hitting continue watching for days. Beware the need to speak in a British accent after watching five episodes in a row.

2. Pitch

This show is a home run (pun intended). It is aimed at both men and woman of any age. This is a story of the first female Major League Baseball player, with the drama that comes with the pressures of fame and stardom. The show is still on air, so that gives you enough time to get caught up with all ten episodes before is comes back for its spring season.

3. The Crown

This show is for the history buff. "The Crown" is the story of a young Queen Elizabeth II. It shows that pain of losing her father and the responsibility that comes with ruling a nation. The first season is already out with ten episodes, so you can watch the first season.

4. Gilmore Girls

I haven’t even fully watched this show to know that it is worthy of being on this list. When you get home from break, your mother is probably going to want to spend time with you like mine does. So this show is a perfect way to bond with your mother in a special way.

5. New Girl

I have not watched a show so fast in my life. The cast of this show is amazing, and Zoey Deschanel is so funny! There are so many catchphrases you will pick up from this show. If you want a quirky, light-hearted show that has fast episodes then this show is the one for you.

6. The Office

This show is a little lengthy season wise, but you won’t even notice as you are constantly clicking next episode. The cast is phenomenal and this will give you inside jokes to last a lifetime.

7. Parks and Recreation

This show is sort of like the office, but with a chubby Chris Pratt. This show will have you laughing for days, and finding the need every day to “Treat Yo Self.”

8. Glee (Netflix)

glee

For the music lover, this show will be a perfect nostalgic trip. This isn’t your average musical with people randomly breaking out into song, but a show that has a plot and has you emotionally connected to this characters and singing along with them.

9. How I Met Your Mother

If you love a good story you will love this. The entire show is one great story of how a man met the mother of his children, hence the title. The show flashbacks to a single man trying to find the love of his life with the help of his four friends.

10. Friends (Netflix)

friends

Possible one of the best comedies of the 90s, "Friends" is a rite of passage for the binge watcher. The show is long, but the hilarious misadventures of six friends and their adult lives make the show worth watching.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
