So, if you read my articles regularly, I believe you get that Halloween is my favorite holiday and autumn is my all time favorite season of the whole year. But if this is the first article of mine you are reading, I really really REALLY love autumn and Halloween. Anyway, you catch my drift so I am here today to tell you the top ten movies you need to watch right now! Halloween is just around the corner so its time to watch Tim Burton, Steven Speilberg, and Alfred Hitchcock movies; time to read Edgar Allen Poe, H. P. Lovecraft, and Stephan King; and time to listen to Danny Elfman, Misfits, and HIM. So here are the top ten movies you all should watch this Halloween!
1. Hocus Pocus
Okay, who doesn't love Hocus Pocus? The movie was originally shown in the summer but it's all about Salem, the Sanderson sisters, and of course Halloween! If you have not seen it yet, WATCH IT! You'll fall in love instantly and will soon want to live in Salem.
2. Corpse BrideThis is my favorite Tim Burton movie. Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, and Tim Burton are amazing when they work together. This creepy trio makes everything better and when Depp and Carter sing together as Emily and Victor in Corpse Bride, it makes everything better!
3. The VVitch: A New-England FolktaleEven though it is not historically accurate, the suspense and horror in the movie has truly scared everyone I know that has watched through it. It keeps you at the edge of your seat wanting to know what happens next. Should I say that if you love plot twists, this is the movie for you!
4. Sleepy Hallow
Yes, Tim Burton is my favorite director but that does not make me biased to other horror movies! But this won't be the last Tim Burton movie on this list. Sleep Hallow gives the short story an interesting twist with a real headless horseman and a not so nice Lady Van Tassel. A must watch for anyone that loves suspense and thriller with a twisted plot.
5. Silence of the Lambs
If you are weirdly into serial killers like I am (I promise I am not crazy, I just really love crime thrillers) then Silence of the Lambs is just the movie for you this Halloween. Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter, Jodie Foster as Clarice Starling, and Jame Gumb as Buffalo Bill will make have your heart beating out of your chest the minute the movie starts. Highly Recommend!
6. The Exorcist
I refuse to watch this movie however my good friends told me to put it on the list since they think it is the scariest and greatest movie ever. If you love watching movies about people being possessed and it being based off of the true story then have fun watching this. I won't be!
7. Halloween (1978)
If you are in the mood for a classic then Halloween is just for you. The amazing John Carpenter directs a movie about Michael Myers escaping from a car getting him to his court date and going back to his old hometown in Illinois to find more people to kill.
8. The Nightmare Before Christmas
This should be an obvious choice for Halloween. Scratch that, not just Halloween but Christmas, also (maybe Thanksgiving also if your in my family). Nightmare Before Christmas is a classic everyone should watch and it also has some of the best 1980songs to sing to!
9. The Conjuring
If you love paranormal movies and horror movies then the Conjuring is for you. A supernatural presence lives in as old house and has the idea to kill every human who lives and who steps into the house. It keeps you under the covers and makes you sleep with lights on so remember you were warned before you watch this movie!
10. The Shining
The Shining is the best movie to watch at any time any where no matter what you are in the mood to watch. Stephan King wrote the book and was soon put into theaters in 1980 by Stanley Kubrick. Every loves a nice thriller that stars Jack Nicholson!
If you are going to watch these movie I hope they won't keep up too late at night! But who doesn't love being scared sometimes right? It makes life fun! Have a lovely time screaming at the top of your lungs and almost having a heart attack!
