It is September 22, and it still does not feel like Fall. Sure the weather is starting to get cooler, and sure we can now buy Pumpkin Spice Lattes, but I still can't wrap my head around the season. I have now set out on a mission to get myself into the fall spirit. I'm wearing sweaters, listening to fall playlists, and watching movies that will give me those, "autumnal vibes."
1) Ghostbusters
The Ghostbusters theme song immediately reminds me of the playlist at an Elementary School Halloween Dance, so naturally, it belongs on this list.
2) Nightmare Before Christmas
Some people label this as a Halloween movie, some people say Christmas. My answer is both, which means as soon as September hits it's time for this amazing film.
3) Hocus Pocus
This movie honestly needs no explanation. The fall vibes? Immaculate. It is the Halloween movie out of all Halloween movies.
4) Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone
A big portion of this movie's plot falls on Halloween, so it's only natural that it gives Fall vibes. We get to see Hogwarts decorated for fall, and pumpkin juice? What else is there to say.
5) Coraline
Coraline is the spookiest children's movie to ever exist. Even though the setting of the movie isn't specifically Autumnal, it makes me want to curl up under a blanket to watch.
6) It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
This has been my go-to fall movie since I was a little kid. It is the epitome of fall, in a singular movie. It has such an amazing charm that cannot be duplicated.
7) Twilight
These movies have vampires and werewolves, I'm not sure what season would be more fitting than fall. This series has a very mysterious aura that is definitely characterized by fall.
8) Beetlejuice
When I was little, this movie was terrifying. Every Tim Burton movie gets me in the mood for fall, so why would this be an exception.
9) Young Frankenstein
When someone says to imagine the characters associated with Halloween, Frankenstein's monster always pops up. This goofy Mel Brooks movie has all the elements that are needed in a fall movie night.
10) The Princess Bride
Okay, so nothing about this movie has anything to do with Autumn. However, something about its color scheme just screams fall to me. The fairytale atmosphere just screams fall and coziness.
