10 Movies To Get You Through The Rest of The Summer

Two weeks ago, I wrote an article listing ten albums full of amazing music that can get you through the rest of the summer. Music is not the only thing getting me through this summer; I have watched hours and hours of television and movies. So to continue the series, here are ten movies to get you through the rest of the summer.

10. Mean Girls

This one is a classic for obvious reasons. Full of laughs and a movie you can watch 100 times and not get bored of.

9. Mystery Team

Not only is he really good rapper but Donald Glover can also act as well. This comedy is so ridiculous you won't only be laughing at its jokes but its plot as well. The film centers around three high school seniors who run a mystery solving business in their small town and are tasked to solve a murder case. This movie is perfect for a rainy or sick day.

8. Titanic

Another classic. This movie is long with a total running time of over 3 hours but it's full of great performances and who doesn't love a little Leonardo Dicaprio?

7. The Big Short

This movie has become one of my favorites in recent years. It tells the story of the subprime mortgage crisis of 2008 in both a comical and dramatic way. Not only is it entertaining but you will also learn a little bit about how Wall Street works and how big banks run.

6. Girls Trip

This movie is still in theaters but is one of the best comedies I've seen in awhile. Plus it will make you want to get all your girlfriends together and go on a memorable trip.

5. All Three High School Musicals movies

Marathon it up. These movies were a staple of my childhood and I constantly go back and relive all the great moments. Including the awkwardness that is Zac Efron passionately walking around a golf course while singing about his feelings.

4. Lilo & Stitch

Yet another classic makes it on to this list. A heartwarming tale about friendship and family and another great movie from my childhood.

3. Who Framed Roger Rabbit

Imagine a world where toons and humans lived in the same universe and you have Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Extremely funny and full of heart.

2. Sisters

Another perfect movie to watch with some girlfriends. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are a hilarious power duo with non-stop laughs.

1. The Parent Trap

Not the Lindsay Lohan one. I'm a fan of both but I saw the original before the remake and therefore it holds a large part of my heart. This is a feel good movie for whatever you happen to be in and it never fails to deliver.

Happy watching!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
