10 Movies on Netflix for Nostalgic 90's Kids

After a long day of classes many of us want to mindless watch a movie or TV show. I have put together a practical list of movies that will take you back to the good ol' days. Many of these classic will have you singing, quoting, and giddy on the inside.

10. HOLES

Everyone loves some Shia. This movie takes you back to the Even Stevens days and is always a quality storyline.

Need a great movie to watch?

9. SPY KIDS

This movie choice is purely to ask yourself the question,"Why did I like this movie so much?" The cool gadgets and instant McDonalds meals make it cool, but the giant walking thumbs keeps us questioning.

8. CADET KELLY

Girls, this movie was our breakthrough. Hilary Duff showed her hardcore side by standing up for herself and we always ended the movie loving the ribbon dancing competition scene.

7. TARZAN

Phil Collins... that is all.

6. AIR BUD

If we are honest with ourselves, a cute Golden Retriever winning volleyball, soccer, and baseball can warm your heart in a second. Recently the Air Bud dog went to dog heaven, so it makes these movies even more special.

5.SPONGEBOB SQUARE PANTS MOVIE

I do not think this list would be complete without Spongebob. The jokes never get old and the sponge never gets less yellow. Goofy-Goober ROCK!

4.THE ROAD TO EL DORADO

If you have not seen this movie, in my opinion, it is very underrated. The dry sense of humor and creative plot makes it different than any other animated movie of its time. Give it a try.

3. CHEETAH GIRLS ONE & TWO

The Cheetah Girl movies gave us girl power. These movies were the first Disney Channel movies put out that began the classic musical songs that we still sing to the top of our lungs in our cars today.

2. CAMP ROCK ONE & TWO

Though these movies came out in the shadow of the HSM trilogy, they are still a classic. The Camp Rocks came out toward the end of the Disney Channel golden years, so they make the nostalgia even more real. AND JONAS BROTHERS. Cause we rock, we rock on!

1. HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL ONE & TWO

Oh early Zac Efron is many of a late 90's girls first real celebrity crush. We all know we wished we had a "T" necklace given to us by Troy Bolton himself. The outfits, songs, cheesy lines & great endings take us back to our preteen years.

That concludes my list! All of these movies are on Netflix for your viewing. Of course, there were more movies that could easily fall into this list. These selections are to widen your options. If you have not seen some of them, give them a try. If you have seen all of them, watch again and laugh at the cheesiness of them all.

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
