We're always excited to see the next horror or action or romance movie, but what about the ones we haven't seen yet? What about movies that are amazing but are just a little older? Why don't more people watch movies from the 1950's and on? Well we should change that. We should embrace the movies that helped inspire some of the new movies that come out today. Here are 10 movies from generations past that you need to watch.
1. "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers"
If you love musicals this is your movie. It has everything from kidnapping to falling in love to dance-offs. This movie will have you laughing, and maybe even crying.
2. "SHAG"
This is one of my favorite movies. It's about four girls that take a trip to Myrtle Beach to meet boys. Things don't go quite as expected though.
3. "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun"
While I think most of us know about this movie it's still one that we should all watch again..... and again ....and again.
4. "Overboard"
This movie is so funny. It's mainly about a rich snob that loses her memory and falls in love with someone she never expected to.
5. "Trouble With Angels"
There are new Indiana Jones movies, and not so new Indiana Jones movies. Watch all of them.
7. "Sound Of Music"
This one's a classic. If you don't know it you must be a sad, sad human.
8. "Gidget"
There's a tv show and a movie. They're both absolutely amazing. It's all about watching a young girl learn to surf and guide her way through life. After you watch it tell me how in love with Moondoggie you are.
9. "Tammy"
I'm not talking about the new Tammy. I'm talking about the 1950's Tammy. The Tammy where Debbie Reynolds is the star. We all know and love her from the Halloweentown movies, so give these a try. You won't be disappointed.
10. "The Cutting Edge"
Seen One Tree Hill lately? Remember Lucas's mother? Yeah, she's the star in this movie. This movie is about a figure skater that has an attitude problem. She makes ever eligible partner run off. Until she doesn't......
