10 More Places You Have to Eat at in Carrollton

Because the first list wasn't nearly enough and people are rude.

10 More Places You Have to Eat at in Carrollton

First, I didn't expect the feedback that I got concerning the first list. Yes, I know that several places were left off, most were done so intentionally. This list is going to be strictly restaurants that have been mentioned to me following the first post, as well as indirectly by those that felt the need to say the first list was "garbage." Sorry that your dad's restaurant didn't make the cut. :)

P.S. A lot of people didn't like the M&J inclusion. Oh well, I like it.

"You should never be allowed to review restaurants, Lazy Donkey is authentic Mexican, M&J's is good food?" - Jason Siegel, a local chef in Carrollton.

Maybe Jason is mad that his restaurant didn't make the cut?

302

Okay. I'll admit, I missed this one last time. 302 should have been on that list, no doubt. It completely slipped my mind. Their creative names for their food matches the taste.

Sam's BBQ/Billy Bob's BBQ

I got a lot of grief for not including a BBQ place last time, rightfully so. Both places offer really good BBQ. Sam's has an unreal lunch deal that I've ordered numerous times.

Big Chic

I never really realized how much people loved this place! If you're not careful, you'll miss it, unless you see the usual line waiting to pick up their food!

La Vaquerita

I got this one a lot, in responses. Ask my girlfriend, this is actually my favorite Mexican spot in Carrollton. The Lazy Donkey is a great Carrollton novelty, so it has to be in the discussion. La Vaquerita is much more in the authentic realm, and you'll notice...that's not in quotations.

Samba Loca

I've never personally been here, but A LOT of people really love this place! I've never been to a Brazilian Steakhouse, so it looks like I need to give it a taste!

La Finca

La Finca is one of the more low-key Mexican restaurants, located on Bankhead. I had several people reach out to let me know that this was by far the "most authentic," Mexican food in town.

GB's Cajun Cookin'

I've heard more people talking about this place in the past two weeks than anywhere else! Their menu looks absolutely incredible...looks like I can get a seafood fix taken care of here! They are located right behind the AMP, for those not familiar with this spot!

Plates on the Square

Another gem on the square. Their freaking rolls are so good! They have an insane variety of food, so this place is a go-to for those that can't decide what they want!

Paladino's

If you want some good drink specials, this is a good place to start! Their pizza is unique, but it is very good!

Z-6

Fried Chicken Wednesday's. Why not?

[Before I end, let me give a quick shout-out to "Shuckers." I haven't been there before and haven't heard much from others, but what I have heard is good! I saw your comment, so I'll make sure to include you and to swing by and give Shuckers a try!]

"Umm where is La Trat?? The dude who wrote this must be from out of town and only goes to UWG and probably doesn't care about the town but where to get cheap crappy food."

Actually, I live in Carrollton. I work full-time in Carrollton. I go to school in Carrollton. Sorry, that La Trattoria didn't make the list. I'm sure your dad's restaurant is wonderful.

In the grand scheme of things, these lists mean nothing. It's all opinionated. I'm extremely appreciative of all the local restaurant owners that we have in Carrollton. They make the choices for where to go eat really difficult, but they also give us endless options for staying in town to eat. If you live in Carrollton, work in Carrollton or go to school in Carrollton, eat at some of our local joints- there's plenty of options for whatever you want!

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.
