NBC Universal

The new show showing on NBC's network "This Is Us" has taken over television like no other show. This family drama follows the journey of the family of Jack and Rebecca Pearson and their kids Kevin, Kate, and Randall later in life. While there have been many shows like this on television before, there is a unique twist to this storyline that the creator, Dan Fogelman, came up with. While the story follows the Pearson kids later in life, every episode includes scenes of flashbacks from when Jack and Rebecca just started dating and starting their family. Every episode will leave you laughing, crying, and screaming at your TV screen wanting more and wishing you didn't need to wait a whole week for a new episode. These are 10 best moments/relationships/characters that made every fan of the show wanting more (warning this may give away spoilers):

1. Dr. Katowski And Jack's Conversation

Unfortunately, when Jack and Rebecca were starting their family, they were expecting triplets, but the third child never made it. A devastated Jack tries to process the news himself before having to wake up Rebecca and give him the bad news. Dr. Katowski 'Dr. K', encourages Jack to find the courage to move on. He tells Jack that life just handed him the sourest lemon life has to offer; Dr. K is very familiar with this heartbreak since him and his wife also lost a child when they were starting a family.

2. Kate Meets Toby

A girl who has struggled with being overweight her entire life finally decides to take control of her life and attend group meetings to help with the dieting. Throughout these meetings, she ends up meeting Toby, a fellow overweight person, who sweeps her off her feet right away. This man really knows how to charm a girl and make every person watching swoon.

3. Randall Confronts His Biological Dad

For everyone who doesn't watch the show, Randall was adopted on the same day Kate and Kevin were born by Jack and Rebecca, completing the three kids they were supposed to have. Now grown up, Randall is on the hunt to find his real father and figure out what actually happened to him on the day Randall was born.

4. Kate and Jack's Relationship

According to Rebecca, Jack is a "superhero" and I might just have to agree with that statement. Seeing Jack from the very beginning of the show with Rebecca and then with his children, just makes everyone's heart melt. But the relationship that Jack has with his daughter is something very special, their bond is very close from the beginning and only continues to grow as Kate gets older.

5. Kevin's Advice To His Nieces

Kevin sits down and explains the beauty of a painting and how it relates to someone dying that he made after working on a project. He says that all the colors represent a person in life, and even when someone dies, they are still a part of the painting of life. He explains that "there is no dying, there is no you or me or them, it's just us. And this sloppy, wild, colorful, magical thing that has no beginning and has no end".

6. Rebecca Knew William Randall's Entire Life

Rebecca and Jack tried so hard to shield Randall from his biological father, considering William left Randall at a fire station the day he was born. Unfortunately, somehow Rebecca got in contact with William and continued to keep communication with William without telling Jack nor Randall. It isn't until Randall has already found his biological father that he found out Rebecca knew about William his entire life.

7. Toby's Suicidal Past

Anyone that knows the show and understands what kind of person Toby is, you would never know he had such a dark past. After divorcing his wife, he went to a very dark past and seriously considered suicide. He talks about this more when he and Kate decide to open up to each other before getting married.

8. Kevin And Randall's Rough Relationship

Like any sibling, there are going to be rough patches growing up together. But this was not the case for Kevin and Kate, it only happened between Randall and Kevin. Growing up, the two brothers never get along with each other. Kevin was very volatile towards Randall and never considered him a brother. The first time Kevin ever referred to Randall as his brother, was when they were physically fighting in the middle of Times Square. It is amazing to watch the character development between both of them.

9. Kevin, Kate, and Randall's Relationship

While the three siblings never see each other on a daily basis, it is amazing the close bond that all of them have. Just like any siblings, they are going to fight with each other, but they realize their bond is unbreakable.

10. Jack Pearson

This may be a bit of a bias opinion, but it is true how much of a "superhero" that Jack Pearson really is. A man that swept Rebecca off her feet from the first day they met: he gave her the house of her dreams, changed his ways to make sure he was going to be the best husband and father he could be, supportive of his wife and children. Jack Pearson really does it all and really shows what it is like to be an amazing person for his family.

Another amazing show that I highly recommend for anyone that has not started it yet. You will immediately get roped into the family and the storyline in the very first episode. You will fall in love with every single character no matter what they do, and like all the other fans of the show, each episode will leave you wanting more.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
