Going back to school is a time to start fresh and to decide what you will get out of your year. There is so many opportunities and endless possibilities that sometimes it may seem overwhelming. Here are some wise words from a show that can relate to so many of life's moments to help guide you as you begin this new phase.

10. "Sometimes I'll start a sentence and I don't even know where it's going I just hope to find it along the way" -Michael Scott

In his weird way, Michael tells us that it's ok to not have it all figured out. In college it's hard to know everything that's going to happen and things don't always go as planned. Figuring out as you go is part of the fun and exciting part of what may become a lifelong memory.

9. "It's never too early for ice cream" -Michael Scott

Life is too short not to enjoy the little things in life. Whether it be eating ice cream or binge-watching a tv-show on netflix or staying out a little later than normal, live your heart out because it's your year.

8. "Wikipedia is the best thing ever" -Michael Scott

Obviously wikipedia is "not a reliable resource" for academic papers, but Michael does have a point. When you have no idea where to start and don't feel like weeding through all those data bases, start with wikipedia as a launch point for your research.

7. "It's a pimple" -Michael Scott

It's ok to not look your best everyday. You can still be amazing even if you are wearing the sweatpants and old t-shirt you've worn for the past few days at the library. After all, we all have those days--life is complicated ;)

6. "In the end, life and business are about human connections" -Michael Scott

Computers may not actually be trying to take over (yet), but Michael is right. Choose to get up away from your screens and interact with the people around you instead of the ones online. You might just meet someone who changes your life.

5. "Occasionally, I'll hit somebody with my car" -Michael Scott

While you might not hit someone when pulling into the parking lot, you still might make a few mistakes along the way. Take everything in strides and remember to let the little things go (but if you actually hit someone with your car, you might want to feel badly about that).

4. "There's such a thing as good grief" -Michael Scott

School brings out a lot of different emotions. "Good grief," as Michael references it, reminds you of what matters most and how to keep everything in perspective.

3. "Sometimes you have to be the boss of dancing" -Michael Scott

Don't forget to enjoy your life and have fun. Michael always encourages his employees to live each moment to the fullest. At school, take advantage of the opportunities to be crazy and live on the edge, even if it means taking a break from the norm.

2. "Never ever ever give up" -Michael Scott

Life can be rough and it might seem like not worth trying to do things anymore, but Michael is right when he tells Jim not to give up on his dream. Keep going.

1. "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take"

Put yourself in the game because you can't succeed if you don't even try.

To everyone starting on the adventure of a new school year, take Michael Scott's advice to heart and have the best year ever.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
