Here's a picture of my first ever Valentine's Day look:

Wow what a comedian I was half a decade ago.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Now see, I know nothing about Valentine's Day, since I have never had a REAL valentine. Instead, I got valentines back in elementary school because some kid's mom bought a pack to give the whole class, but never the whole mushy lovey dovey extravaganza. So, I am going to talk about something I do know, makeup. Now, although I do not celebrate Valentine's Day with a significant other, I do my face to match the holiday. Here are my go-to products to use for looks.

Let us start with eyes. Now this can go anywhere from a natural flirty eye, to anything big, bold, and glittery.

1. Too Faced's Sweet Peach Palette

This palette is great if you are looking for something that isn't too complicated. It has a great range of nude colors, and a little bit of sparkle to add to your eye.

2. Anastasia Beverly Hills' Modern Renaissance

Ah, a cult favorite that has grasped the hearts of anyone that does makeup. This palette includes a lot of daring colors that really pop out when applied on the eye.

3. Urban Decay's Naked HEAT

As newer palette in the naked series, there has been a lot of commotion around this palette since it came out. It has filled with many warm toned reds, beiges, and browns that'll show off your warm heart!

4. Stila's Glitter and Glow Liquid Eyeshadow

This picture does not really show all the available shades, but it does show off how glittery these liquid shadows are. They're my absolute go to whenever I need to apply glitter! However, I suggest getting them in the smaller sizes that Sephora sells in sets of 3. While I do love these shadows, I don't necessarily wear a glitter eye everyday, so be on the lookout for these value packs.

Next stop: Lips. If anything, I am not kissing anyone this Valentine's Day, so I am free to wear any lipstick without worrying about it getting smudged.

5. Fenty Beauty's Lip Stunna

To be honest, I have never really been a fan of red lips. I just thought that it would never work on me, until I applied this. It's that iconic bold red that remains a classic look.

6. Huda Beauty's Liquid Lipstick in "FAMOUS"

I usually wear a dark red lip, and I 10/10 recommend this liquid lip. It may be matte, but to me it feels satin!

7. Bite Beauty's Amuse Bouche Lipstick in "LIQUORICE"

Another favorite dark lippie of mine that I go for whenever I do not feel like having to paint my lips for 10 minutes with a liquid lip.

8. Kat Von D's Liquid Lipstick in "LOLITA"

Yet another cult favorite on this list. Lolita has always been one of my favorites since it gives off a natural looking pink color.

And now the moment you have been waiting for, HIGHLIGHTER. Now if you are single, you are your own light of the day, so why not shine on for others. Bonus Tip: Sometimes I mix in a little bit of the Stila liquid eyeshadows to give off a little extra sparkle!

9. Anastasia Beverly Hills' Nicole Guerriero Highlighting Palette

This palette has all your highlighter needs: gold tones, pink tones, all the frickin tones! My personal favorite shade: Forever Young. Any of these colors can be mixed with each other as well and create more lovely shades.

10. Urban Decay's Naked Illuminated Shimmering Powder in "AURA"

I don't really use this baked highlighter on its own. It has quite the glittery finish, and I usually apply it on top of other highlighters for that extra shine. It is a quick 2 second brush on for that extra sparkle.

At the end of the day, there is a lot of makeup you can play with to make Valentine's day looks whether you're single or taken. Here are some of mine for inspiration:

However, you can never go wrong with the classic:

Yes, that is me again. Valentine's Day 2017.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! If you have no one to love, remember to love yourself! Also, I love you!! <3

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
