I like to think I know a lot about makeup. I enjoy testing different products anywhere from drug store to high-end. Sometimes it is hard to get yourself and your wallet to invest in those high-end items. That's where I come in to help!
Here are 10 makeup items I recommend and think that you need in your life.
1. Beautyblender
I have no idea how I applied my foundation and concealer without my beautyblender. All you do is get it wet, so it expands, and then apply your makeup with patting and twisting motions. Simple as that! It is the perfect way to achieve a flawless natural foundation.
2. Anastasia Beverly Hill's Brow Wiz
2016 is all about the brows. Your face looks so much more put together when you fill in your eyebrows, but it can be scary! That's why the Anastasia Beverly Hill's Brow Wiz is great. First, brush your eyebrows out with the spooly on one end, then fill in your brows with the product end. The Brow Wiz comes in many different colors so it will match your brows perfectly.
3. Smashbox Photo Ready Foundation Primer
The secret to stay all day foundation is to prime your face with a good primer. My favorite primers are the Smashbox Photo Ready Foundation Primers. They come in many different types like photo finish, pore minimizer, hydrating, etc.
4. Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer
The best way to cover up those dark circles under your eyes or to just perfect your complexion is to use a full coverage concealer. The Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer comes in many shades and covers up blemishes while still making your face look like your own skin.
5. Kylie Lip Kit
There has been so much hype regarding the Kylie Lip Kits. There has also been some backlash, but I think these are the best liquid lipsticks I have ever used. They not only smell delicious, but there are VERY longwearing. One coat and your lips will be covered for hours upon hours.
*Yes, the Kylie Lip Kits are expensive, however I think they are an amazing product. Also they are similar to Colourpop matte liquid lipsticks but the quality isn't the same.
6. Colourpop Eyeshadows
I have recently fallen in love with the makeup brand Colourpop. They have many different affordable makeup products from glosses to highlighters to highly pigmented eyeshadows. The best way to apply these shadows is with your fingers. All the eyeshadows are $5 a piece and are absolutely gorgeous.
7. Becca Pressed Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop
This has been my holy grail highlighter for the past month. Jaclyn Hill did a collaboration with Becca Cosmetics, which resulted in this beauty. This highlighter is the perfect rose gold color that will look good on any skin tone. The best places to use this highlighter are on the brow bone, cheek bones, and tip of your nose.
8. Benefit Hoola Bronzer
I don't know how I ever did my makeup without this little box. The Benefit Hoola Bronzer is my go-to matte bronzer and can even be used as an eyeshadow. I contour my forehead and cheekbones with this and even dust a little on my face for some added warmth.
Pro tip: Always contour with a matte bronze shade.
9. Kat Von D Tattoo Liner
The best way to achieve that perfect cat eye is with a felt tip liquid eyeliner. My favorite is the Kat Von D tattoo liner. It never dries out, as long as you keep the cap on after using. I love to use this eyeliner for everything from a subtle line to a dramatic cat eye look.
10. Buxom Full-On Lip Polish
Last but not least, the best lip glosses on the market are from Buxom. They are the Buxom Full-On Lip Polishes. They come in 100 different shades so you can easily find the perfect shade for you. The best thing about this product is that it is plumping!
Now that you know my favorites, try them out. Or maybe even make your own favorites. my favorite way to find new products is to watch beauty videos on YouTube.
