Growing up in Kansas is a unique experience. Once you've made it out alive, you either have a strong affinity for Kansas, or a deep seated hatred. Here are 10 reasons for either reaction to a landlocked life.
1. The sun
I may be biased, but the big, bright sun is an exceptional piece of Kansas
2. The wind
Without wind, I don't really know how else Kansas could be identified.
3. Dwight D. Eisenhower
One of the most gentle appearing presidents came from Kansas, so that's pretty cool.
4. The Wizard of Oz
*Insert Wizard of Oz joke here*
5. The weather
This is accurate.
6. Sunsets
The sun is beautiful during the day, but when it sets is when the real show happens.
7. Wheat fields
You're not a Kansan if you don't love a nice gaze at a wheat field.
8. Sunflowers
Try and find a bigger, more beautiful state flower.
9. "Hills"
We have these things we call the "Flint Hills" and regardless of the actual "hill-iness" they are pretty fantastic.
10. Small towns
Real small towns- a love/hate relationship.
