It's that time of the year again! Fall (insert heart eye emoji)! My favorite time of the year includes colorful leaves, fuzzy socks, and football. So here at 10 of my favorite things about the fall.

1) Sweaters.

So you put on a few pounds to keep you warm in the winter no one will ever know under your extremely large cute oversized sweaters. So eat that extra piece of pizza and enjoy your warm, comfy sweaters.

2) PSL. (Pumpkin spice latte)

I personally don’t like anything flavored pumpkin (don’t hate me) but I know that this is one of the greatest aspects of the fall. Though it sucks it's only available once a year it makes this time of the year even better.

3) Fuzzy socks.

Nothing is better than getting fuzzy socks in your stocking on Christmas am I right?! Who doesn’t love putting on some fuzzy socks and slipping into bed under your warm blankets??

4) Bonfires.

I love the idea of hanging around a fire with s’mores with friends sharing funny stories. Wrapped up in a blanket and having quality time with friends and family with beautiful scenery.

5) Cuddling.

Nothing is better than cuddling after being out in the cold all day with a hot coco in hand. It’s the perfect time to snuggle up to that special someone.

6) Scarfs and boots and fall fashion oh my!

Fall fashion is my favorite. Layers and layers; being comfy all day long while always being nice and warm, what could possibly be better than that?

7) Football.

I admit I don’t always have the patience to watch football but I love the atmosphere of being with friends, eating good food, and watching college football games.

8) Beautiful scenery.

The colors changing, the leaves falling, oh it’s so pretty! Growing up in a small town/ the country I couldn’t get enough of the fall and it’s so beautiful. The colorful leaves never seem to last long enough.

9) Halloween.

Picking out your Halloween costume was one of my favorite things to do while growing up! Dressing up and getting together with your friends and free candy what could be better?!

10) The new feeling of change.

There’s something in the air when it's fall time; everyone is in a good mood and is accepting the temperature change and the change of pace. The leaves changing and falling gives off a feeling that its okay to change and to accept it.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
