For all you audiophiles out there, check out some of these insane remixes of your favorite songs. Listed are some oldies with a twist that will make you shake, shimmy and sway. And if EDM isn’t your thing, give these remixes a chance. There’s nothing better than the feeling of a bass drop so heavy that it shocks your socks off. I’ve featured a little bit of everything under the wide umbrella of dance music subgenres with a dash of hip-hop/rap. Plus, there’s some surprises mixed in so don’t be scared to experiment with new sounds.
1. ILOVEMAKONNEN - I Don't Sell Molly No More (Ghastly x Fawks Remix)
A get-down song gone electronic with thumping bass and a brilliant use of stabs in true Ghastly fashion.
2. Migos - Bad and Boujee (Luca Lush Remix)
You can’t claim this one isn’t a banger. The remix spun off a little far from the original but it plays well off the lyrics, and it has a sweet build.
3. A$AP MOB - Hella Hoes (JAUZ Remix)
Throwin' it back 2014 which feels like forever ago when A$AP MOB dropped this track. If you know JAUZ, you would immeaditely recognize their signature sound on this remix. Heavy wobble bass and a fun use of effects enhance the original into a real dance song.
4. Quinn XCII - Stung (Rickyxsan Remix)
This remix will have you feeling some type of way. It effectively introduces new beats and vocal manipulations to convey all the emotion packed in this illustrious ballad.
5. Jill Scott - Golden (Kaytranada Remix)
This is such a fun remix of a classic empowerment anthem. The intensity behind the remix comes from a strong beat layered over the sped up track. There’s no way you don’t dance to this one.
6. K.A.A.N. - Chill Bill Rmx
This spin off is not technically an electronic remix but K.A.A.N. went so hard on this track I had to include it. The bass is boosted from the original and his flow is a whole new world. Plus, this version is free on Soundcloud while you’ll have to splurge on SoundCloud GO for the original.
7. Hundred Waters - “Show Me Love” (Skrillex Remix) ft. Chance The Rapper, Moses Sumney, Robin Hannibal
So many amazing names credited on this mix. They turned a 91 second vocal experiment into a hit that ties together artists from a wide spectrum of genres. And it does so quite successfully I might add.
8. Wet - No Lie (Noah Breakfast Remix feat. Spank Rock)
This remix does a beautiful job of layering vocals and melodies in combination with some heavy panning to make the song feel wildly immersive.
9. Collarbones - Turning (Flume Remix)
This is one of my favorites. Flume really made this track their own, with the use of tremolo and ripping bass effects. If you want an extra treat you should check out the music video (linked above). It is pretty trippy to say the least.
10. Dawin - Dessert (VEGA Remix)
Get your squat game on because this little ditty here is the twerk jam you’ve been searching for.
