I have a problem. Every time I walk into a store that carries makeup, my wallet magically opens. If you seem to have this problem as well, hopefully I can steer you in the right direction with a few lipstick purchases that you won't regret. Here are my top 10 lipstick picks for 2016.
1. Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain / Matte Stain all shades - $10
While the Colorburst collection in its entirety is beautiful, the original balm stain gives you a lustre finish on your lips in the hue of your choice while the matte stain drenches your lips in opaque color. The Matte Stains might have a better staying power for long wear situations, if you are more of a lip balm fan, the original balm stains are an easy switch. My favorites include "Honey" (a sheer pinky-mauve shade) from the original line and "Striking" (A fire-engine red) "Sultry" (a toned down version of the Kylie Jenner lip-craze of 2k15) and "Shameless" (A kick ass purple) from the matte stain line.

2. NYX Matte Lipstick all shades - $6
NYX does not compromise the standards of their products because of their low price. These lipsticks do not disappoint, however you do need a little lip balm before and after application as this particular formulation is very drying. Look up "Goal Digger" (not pictured) which is sold out almost everywhere for a reason.
3. Wet and Wild Fergie Creme Lipstick in Ferguson Crest Cabernet - $3
This lipstick was a buy on the hunt for a dupe of MAC's "Rebel". I have loved this lipstick so much that I bought it again and given to my mother, who only gets my highest recommendations. I now prefer this to MAC's "Rebel". Also, something about this lipstick is flattering on anyone who tries it.
4. Maybelline Color Sensational all shades, but honorable mention to Crazy For Coffee - $8
When a satin lipstick is too sticky or if the color slides off my lips, I'm not a fan. I thought I wasn't going to be a fan of this particular collection but they are true satin finishes, not drying or sticky to the touch. They can be slippery if you eat with this lipstick on, so carry the tube with you. This line also carries a ga-jillion colors so you are likely to find one you love.
5. Miliani Color Statement Lipstick in Power Pink and Black Cherry - $6
While I am a fan of this entire makeup line two lipsticks stand out in the pack. "Power Pink" is what I would describe as the Barbie pink we love to hate while "Black Cherry" is a plumy burgundy which has an unexpected pearlized shimmer.
6. Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Fiery - $24
Fiery. This color has broken the internet with its ability to become the perfect red lipstick on every single human who has tried on the shade. This shade also gets points because blue toned reds make your teeth look extra clean and sparkly.
7. Lime Crime, all lip products - $20 + shipping (online only)
If you don't mind the scandal which surrounds this company..the products are highly pigmented and also packaged in an aesthetically pleasing way. My roommate has one of their Velvetine liquid lipsticks and she adores it. My personal favorites are "Salem" for obvious reasons and "Cashmere" although with a grey-toned lipstick I might look a little like a zombie ... can we get zombie lips to trend? #zombielips
8. Nars Velvet Matte / Satin Lip Pencils in Dragon Girl and Luxembourg - $26
By the end of this list you might have figured out that I like red lipstick. Guilty. At least "Dragon Girl" has been backed-up the stylized Taylor Swift. I prefer the Velvet Matte pencils by Nars but I will say that "Luxembourg," a color which can only be described on the lips as watermelon pink, is a dream.
9. MAC Lipsticks, all shades within the Matte, Amplified, and Satin formulations - $17
My dear old friends. I have...ten MAC lipsticks. Five of which are shades of red. I can talk to you for days about MAC lipsticks but I shall instead tell you the most lust-worthy shades; "Russian Red," "Girl About Town," and "Syrup."
10. Bobbi Brown Lip Color - $27
Lipstick from Bobbi Brown just feels like you are worth a million bucks when you apply it. Same luxe factor as Tom Ford for half the price.
If your lipstick don't quit, neither should you!
