The Office was once a beloved primetime show that we all looked forward to watching each week. Throughout the years Michael Scott, the absurd and ridiculous branch manager, has made us laugh, cry and cringe. Here are just a few of the universal truths Steve Carell's hilarious character has taught viewers:

1. It is possible to be too idealistic.

2. Confidence is everything.

3. Being a leader is not always an easy job.

4. A true best friend will always stick by your side- even if you accidentally drive your car into a lake.

5. Don't be afraid to follow your heart- even if it means starting your own paper company.

6. EVERYONE suffers moments of heavy defeat from time to time.

7. Sometimes the best presents are homemade.

8. We all go through at least one terrible relationship.

9. But when you find the one, don't hold back. Just go for it.

10. Goodbyes are tough, and it's okay to cry (especially when your favorite branch manager is leaving).

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
