Every TV show has that one character that you can totally relate to; that you always secretly hope to be like because they are just that awesome. While Christina Yang is just a character, I can't help but wonder that if she were a person, how many people would want to be her friend? She has just enough fire and honesty to make for a perfect friend. Here are ten lessons Christina Yang told us and why she is that awesome.

1. You have the power to change your world.

2. Don't settle for being mediocre, when you can be great.

3. Liquor makes everything easier to handle, even your crazy uncle.

4. Food is always good, and if there is no food, then it's time to leave.

5. Learn from the mistakes you make and don't make the same mistake twice. If a guy hurts you once, he will do it again.

6. You are who you are for a reason, and don't let anyone try and change you – not even your boyfriend's mom. If she doesn't like you, tell her to shove it. Simple as that!

7. Have the drive to be anything you want, succeed in what feeds your soul, and be great.

8. Dancing will always be the answer to every problem.

9. Know who you are, and more importantly, know your self-worth.

10. Everyone needs to have that one person who knows them better than anyone else; the person who loves you for who you are and would do anything for you, because you are their person.

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.
