I thought that in honor of the end of Vacation Bible School at my church, I would make a little list of the things I learned last week. So here are the top 10 things I learned by leading VBS:
1. It's a lot of work.
2. Preschoolers are not easy to corral.
3. There is always at least one kid having a meltdown.
4. Getting whipped cream thrown in your face is not as fun as it sounds.
5. If you offer any type of competition, they will get way too into it.
6. Children's pastors deserve a lot of appreciation and hugs.
7. The snacks are always awesome.
8. Some of the youth are really into leading their groups, and some are not.
9. If you even mention prizes, the kids will do whatever you ask.
10. By helping with vacation Bible school, you helped show kids in your community the love of Jesus.
