12 Things I Wish Were Already Invented

It's 2016, time to start working on these.

We've all had moments of pure ingenious when it comes to inventing innovative things for the real world. Here are 12 things I wish were already invented.

1. WIFI treadmill that when you stop walking, wifi stops.

I mean with constant checking of all our social media sites and cute cat videos, we would all be so much healthier!

2. Text Recall Button

We've all done it, sent that text that you regret right after touching the “send” button. By now, with our advanced technology, there should be a way to recall those somewhat embarrassing texts and keep them from the eyes of others.

3. Watches that vibrate instead of beep so as not to disturb anyone.

There's always that one person whose alarm seems to go off in classes or meetings. So instead of disturbing EVERYONE around you, why not be able to avoid the cold stares and angry looks in your direction by simply having a watch that vibrates.

4. Erasable highlighters!

Hello college students! This is the invention for you! You would be able to highlight in your textbook rentals ALL YOU WANTED and still be able to sell them back.

5. iPhone chargers that don't break.

I think everyone can appreciate this one. C'mon Apple, is it really that hard to make a more sturdy charger? We're really not asking for much here.

6. Fizz pill for flat soda.

A pill that you can simply drop into your soda and bring the fizz right back. Because let's face it, nobody likes flat soda.

7. Waiter/ waitress call button.

Instead of them coming to the table whenever you don't need them, a call button would ensure that servers only approach your table when you need them too. Might even save them some time and energy running around and checking every single table.

8. Two in one microwave.

I like my dinner hot and my ice cream cold, but I can heat up my dinner in about two minutes, and if my ice cream melts, it takes forever to solidify in the freezer! So why not have a two in one microwave that can beat food up and freeze it in seconds!

9. Two in one washer and dryer.

Because having to get up to switch over your laundry is just too much of a feat.

10. YouTube app that plays music when you use another app.

I think we've all been waiting for this one.

11. A lower brightness setting on phones.

So when you go to check your phone in the middle of the light you aren't blinded by the light. Even the dimmest setting still seems blinding.

12. A safety strap to attach your iPhone to your hand.

The gif says it all.

15 Times "Parks and Recreation" Summed Up Your Library Experience

"I've only slept nine hours over the past four days, so I'm right on the verge of a nervous breakdown." - Leslie Knope

Parks and Recreation excitedly gathered around a laptop at a table in an office setting.

The library. Club lib. The place every college student goes when they want to try and be a productive member of society. Who better to explain your experience than Parks and Rec?

1. When you've finally found the energy to leave your dorm room and walk into the lib like

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

Students walking on a sunny college campus with trees and buildings.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
