10 Instagram Accounts You Should Be Following
Dylan Furst

In the current day and age, social media plays an enormous role in everyone’s lives. Whether you’re on everything from Facebook to Tinder or haven’t tweeted since 2012, most of us depend on these accounts to stay in touch with those around us. So why not make it enjoyable? As an avid Instagram user, I’ve relied on the app to get me through boring lectures and long car rides.

These are 10 of my favorite accounts that appeal to every kind of person and will keep you interested until your battery diminishes to 5 percent:

1. @humansofny

Humans of New York was created in 2010 by Brandon Stanton, a photographer based in NYC. Initially, the blog was supposed to involve only portraits, but as he got to talking to his subjects, he began adding quotes and stories as captions. As of today, HONY has 4.8 million followers on Instagram and two "New York Times" Best Sellers. The stories are relatable, heart-breaking, hilarious and sometimes disturbing, but I wouldn't be lying if I said I've spent hours reading through each one.

2. @fosterhunting

Foster Huntington is a very interesting man. He quit his fancy New York job in order to travel around North America while living out of his van, all while documenting it on multiple blogs. He’s amassed 1 million followers on Instagram, most of whom are fans of his beautiful photography and incredibly laid-back lifestyle. His lives completely on his own terms and manages to capture whatever he does in an intriguing light.

3. @thedogist

This account is all about dogs. Much like Humans of New York, the Dogist is a photo-documentary series focused around dogs, featuring quotes from their owners. Each dog has a different story, and they’re all documented by the creator of the account, Elias Weiss Friedman. The Dogist’s Instagram boasts 1.8 million followers. If you're a dog person, this is a no-brainer.

4. @jenselter

While I follow Jen Selter solely out of jealousy, there's a lot of other reasons why you should become one of her 8.6 million fans. First of all, she's super inspirational and in insane shape, so if you need a #fitspiration, she can be it. Second, she has a great sense of style. She pretty much only dons activewear, but her OOTDs are still really cute. Last, her family is weirdly attractive. Her mom looks like her sister, and her grandma looks like her mom. Honestly, a must-follow.

5. @hotdudesreading

There’s not much to explain for this one. This account features a collection of photos of really attractive men reading books and magazines, mostly riding the subway. What makes this one unique is that the 808,000 followers can submit their own pictures of hot guys with literature. The creators are coming out with a book of the same name this April. Why wouldn’t you want to follow this account?

6. @fursty

Moving on to the most beautiful (in my opinion) page on IG, Dylan Furst is a photographer hailing from Washington state. He takes breathtaking pictures of the Pacific Northwest scenery, and honestly, they're so amazing that he makes me wish I could move back. With nearly half a million followers, Dylan is definitely doing everything right. Please, bless yourself and follow him.

7. @blackjaguarwhitetiger

Lion, tigers and... jaguars? Oh my! This Instagram features an amazing man who takes in several different kinds of wild cats for the sole purpose of helping them. It all started when Eduardo Serio rescued a baby jaguar from being exploited for income. This evolved into a foundation that has cared for over 200 large cats previously at risk for abuse, ranging from pumas to leopards. With 4.6 million dedicated animal lovers following the account, the love for cats keeps getting stronger.

8. @cheesy_travelers

If you’re looking for pictures of cheesy amazingness to grace your feed, look no further. Two women by the names of Danni and Jordan have created the ultimate food fantasy. Their account displays pictures of all different kinds of cheesy meals, from pasta to quesadillas. Each photo features food from a different place around the world, making it easy for their over 30,000 followers to find a place where they can get their hands on the deliciousness.

9. @marutaro

If you haven’t followed Maru yet, what are you doing??? He’s a beautiful Shiba Inu living in Japan with his owner Shinjiro Ono. He sleeps, plays, goes on adventures and sleeps again. Maru’s obtained 2.3 million followers in his overtaking of Insta, gaining him the title (rightfully so) of The Most Popular Dog On Instagram.

10. @dilfs_of_disneyland

What’s better than a hot dad? A hot dad at Disneyland. This amazing account posts pictures of really attractive men who happen to take their children to the happiest place on Earth. With more than 330,000 followers, these #dilfsofdisneyland seem to be attracting a lot of loyal fans.

If you find yourself nodding off at work or trying to make it through a two-hour class, check out some of these accounts. I promise you won't be disappointed, but if you need a bonus account, you can always hit me up at @isabellaeson. Sorry for the shameless promo, but I couldn't help it!

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

Bucket List To Live In The Now

Find excitement in your life and start exploring wherever you are right here, right now.

mu bucket list

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.
