I love good quotes, so much so that I have an entire board dedicated to them on my Pinterest, and when life gets a little rough, I like to peruse that board and lose myself for a moment in the inspirational words of others. Whether it's about strength, finding your voice, or showing those you love that you care, quotes always have a way of sticking with you. Here are ten inspirational quotes to get you through your day.

1. "Change your thoughts, and you change your world." Norman Vincent Peale

2. "Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it." — Steve Jobs

3. "Today I choose life. Every morning when I wake up, I can choose joy, happiness, negativity, pain...To feel the freedom that comes from being able to continue to make mistakes and choices—today I choose to feel life, not to deny my humanity, but embrace it." — Kevyn Aucoin

4. "Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like." — Lao Tzu

5. “Life is a storm, my young friend. You will bask in the sunlight one moment, be shattered on the rocks the next. What makes you a man is what you do when that storm comes. You must look into that storm and shout as you did in Rome. Do your worst, for I will do mine! Then, the fates will know you as we know you.” ― Alexandre Dumas, The Count of Monte Cristo

6. "Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning." — Albert Einstein

7. "Yesterday is not ours to recover, but tomorrow is ours to win or lose." — Lyndon B. Johnson

8. "Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen." — Winston Churchill

9. "You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection." — Buddha

10. "It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop." — Confucius

Here is a bonus quote to leave you all with from my favorite band, Twenty One Pilots. One that has not only inspired a tattoo that helps get me out of bed every day, but one that speaks to me on so many levels.

"There are things we can do
But from the things that work there are only two
And from the two that we choose to do
Peace will win
And fear will lose."

-Tyler Joseph of Twenty One Pilots

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
