Everyone loves a good night to themselves that involves a freshly made bed, some snacks and Netflix. Especially when you land upon an Indie film that slightly changes your life. For a little help on finding some must sees, here are some that you should have watched by, well, yesterday.
"Short Term 12"
A movie about teens who are emotional and mentally sick, mainly due to the fact they have no proper home to live in. This movie is about the place they stay in temporarily. Also, if you loved Brie Larson in the movie Room, you'll love her even more in this one.
"Keith"
If you wanna cry your eyes out, this is a good one about new love and friendship. Also, did I say Jesse McCartney?
"Adult World"
Another great movie Emma Roberts did without telling too many people. It's an amazing real tale about post grad life that takes place in Syracuse, NY - somewhere many of us know. Also, Evan Peters is in it!
"White Bird in a Blizzard"
A seriously haunting and delicious mystery about a girl finding out what happened to her mother after she disappeared one day.
"The Road Within"
This movie is about three mentally sick teenagers escaping their rehab center and the journey they have while also discovering themselves.
"Stuck in Love"
I mean, if you haven't watched this movie yet I'm concerned. Just go watch it right now.
"StoneHearst Asylum"
This movie is less on the scary asylum side and more on unexpected twist within an unexpected twist within another unexpected twist side.
"A Girl Like Her"
This movie is about a girl that is bullied into committing suicide. It's a beautifully done movie about a real issue in a fake documentary style.
These next two movies are no longer on Netflix streaming but something to get your hands on.
"Palo Alto"
The book is just as enticing as this movie. James Franco shows his true talents in this movie. Also, another movie Emma Roberts is in.
"The Virgin Suicides"
A story about five beautiful sisters that their male neighbors obsess over, even after their doomed fates. It's a tale about teenagers with lust, fantasy, love and death. Truly one of the best indie films out there.
