There are times in a college student's life where they find themselves in thrilling, embarrassing, and bitter situations. Here are ten indie lyrics that perfectly capture some of the many college student situations.

1. "I don't wanna dance, I don't know how."

COIN's I Don't Wanna Dance perfectly captures those times when you find yourself at a party or club, telling your friends you don't want to dance because your inability to find a beat is tragic. Or this is what you say to that guy who's trying to dance with you, but you're not interested.

2. "I'm not ready anymore."

This lyric from The Griswold's Not Ready Anymore resonates with college students when they face the reality that they must leave the comfort of their home to go to college. Or when you were visiting home on a break and must return to your dorm room.

3. "Dig down and find faith, when you're close to the edge... you must find a way."

Muse's Dig Down lyric closely reflects that 1:00 a.m. pep talk you have to give yourself as you scramble to finish that essay you should have started weeks ago. Hang in there, we've all been there.

4. "We're not doing it for the money."

Foster the People's lyric is almost every college student's response when someone asks you if your profession makes a lot of money and you know good and well that, in the beginning, it doesn't.

5. "I got gas in the bank, I got money in the bank, I got news for you baby, you're looking at the man."

The Man by The Killers perfectly shows every college student's attitude on payday. You feel like a millionaire, at least until your bank account says $4.09 and you have to wait for the next payday.

6. "Do you have the time, to listen to me whine."

Although Green Day is not really an indie band, this lyric from Basket Case definitely earns a spot on the list. This seems to be what you say every time you meet with your friends to catch up right before exam week.

7. "It's hard enough just making money, it's hard enough just trying to feel alive."

Walk the Moon's UP 2 U lyric perfectly reflects a college student explaining college life to their parents. With all of your work hours and homework, how are you supposed to still make it to the weekend to have fun without feeling dead?

8. "My body tells me 'no,' but I won't quit 'cause I want more."

When you tell yourself not to have another drink, but you have one anyways because you're a sucker for bad decisions. This My Body by Young the Giant lyric has crossed every student's mind at a party at one time or another.

9. "But would you pay my rent?"

This DNCE lyric slips from a college student's mouth when you're a little short on cash this month and you have to ask your parents for a little extra cash to pay rent.

10. "This is high times for low lives."

When you finally get that 'A' on that test you studied super hard for when every other aspect of your life seems to be crumbling. This lyric by The Griswolds seems to be a perfect for that moment.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
