You're finally home for the holidays or procrastinating on a final paper, instead of watching your favorite television show you are now hooked on holiday/Christmas movies. Here are the top ten holiday movies to watch.
1. "Elf"
This is a classic, you can never go wrong with "Elf". This movie is about a man leaving the North Pole in search of his father and ending up in New York City where he isn't accustomed to any of the city life.
2. "Home Alone"
This movie is about a boy getting left home alone during Christmas time while his parents are away for a holiday vacation. He is left to fend his home off from some robbers by building some DIY traps to catch them.
3. "The Polar Express"
A personal favorite of mine, "The Polar Express" is an animated story based of the book. A boy goes on the Polar Express to the North Pole and in order to get back in time he needs to believe in the Christmas spirit.
4. "How The Grinch Stole Christmas"
There is the animated version and the real life version, but the Grinch is this creature who lives in the mountains on top of Whoville and he hates everything. He tries to ruin Christmas by stealing presents and decorations, only to have his heart grow warmer by the Christmas spirit.
5. "A Charlie Brown Christmas"
A classic cartoon explaining the real meaning of Christmas through Charlie Brown's adventures and rhetoric.
6. "Love Actually"
A cute, sappy movie based around Christmas, explaining how love brings us all together for the holidays no matter what is going on in our lives.
7. "Frosty The Snowman"
A cartoon snowman comes alive by magic and brings the holiday cheer through dancing and music, until the magician needs his magic hat back and the temperature starts to rise, causing Frosty to melt.
8. "Four Christmases"
A new couple goes on four separate Christmases for each sides of their families and along the way many little mishaps happen between families. In the end they all find a better understanding of how they each bring out the holidays and love in each other.
9. "Rudolf The Red-Nosed Reindeer"
A shy, smaller reindeer is always getting made fun of because of his shiny red nose, but one day Santa comes and says that he needs him to help guide his sleigh throughout the night. This movie goes through the unexpected turns of doubt and problems that happen throughout the movie.
10. Any lifetime or Hallmark movies
Hallmark or Lifetime always has movies on each day of the month. Why not cuddle up and watch a sappy, love story come true?
