I miss Harry Potter. I miss the excitement of midnight movie premiers and standing in line at midnight book releases. With the recent release of the trailer for “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them” that old excitement returned and inspired me to compile this short list of Harry Potter facts. These will definitely come in handy if a Harry Potter question is asked during trivia night at your local bar…or if you wanna nerd out with a fellow Potterhead. But to be honest you should just read over these because there is no such thing as too much Harry Potter.

The Mirror of Erised is the mirror in which Harry sees himself with his parents in The Sorcerer’s Stone. The mirror is said to show the hearts deepest desire. “Erised” spelled backwards is “desire” and the engraving at the top of the mirror “Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on wohsi” is I show not your face but your heart's desire" when written backwards as well.

The Forest of Dean, in which Ron destroyed the Slytherin Locket Horcrux, is the birth place of Rubeus Hagrid. J.K. Rowling herself lived on the edge of the forest for 9 years.

Joanne Rowling’s publisher told her told her to change her name to something that would appeal more to male readers. She settled on “J.K.” the “K” stands for “Kathleen”, her grandmother’s name.

The “t” at the end of Voldemort is actually silent…crazy we’ve been mispronouncing it all these years

Tom Felton, the actor that played Draco Malfoy, also auditioned for the roles of Harry Potter and Ron Weasley.

The ghoulish, soul-sucking monsters, and guards of Azkaban, Dementors, represent depression as well as J.K. Rowling’s own personal struggle with the disease.

When “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” was released in Great Britain, the publisher asked stores not to sell the book until schools were closed for the day to prevent truancy.

Fred and George were born on April Fools Day. They were jokes from the start.

Harry Potter wasn’t really a Horcrux because Horcurxes must be intentionally made. He is labeled as a "Pseudo-Horcrux"

Harry's scar is in the shape of a lightning bolt because the curse that was supposed to kill him, followed that shape, and left a literal mark on Harry.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
