Thanksgiving is a time meant to express gratitude to your friends and family. Before you and your friends part ways for the holiday how about having a Friendsgiving. Your friends become your family when you’re away for months at a time. Personally, I’ve learned to value and cherish my friendships when my family moved to another state. It was those times where I felt alone, or couldn't go home as much where I considered my friends family. They are here to support you, give advice, never judge, and love you for you.

Before you make the journey home where it can get hectic, you have to listen to grandma's stories and try to avoid talking politics, have a feast with your closest friends to celebrate your friendship. Don't forget to consider these steps when throwing your Friendsgiving this year!

1. Create A Guest List

Decide which friends you're going to invite and let them know ideally 1 to 2 weeks before. You can send cute invitations or evites!

2. Plan

It's time to pick a date that works for everyone and either be the host or decide who has enough space to hold everyone for the evening.

3. Choose a Style

Potluck style works best for Friendsgiving! It's cheaper and everyone can bring either a traditional, unique dish or something simple for your non cooking friends. All you have to do is coordinator who brings what.

4. Have A Speciality Cocktail

Make a special drink for the occasion and have A LOT of it. Your friends won't mind if you have a drink with dinner... or three.

5. Set The Table

Don't forget to set the table so you all be together. Have nice place settings laid out for everyone. Time to get creative!

6. Time Everything Out

Put the turkey in the oven early enough, know if things need to be heated up or refrigerated. Be ahead so preparation runs smoothly.

7. Entertain Your Guests

In the midst of trying to get dinner ready don't forget to make sure your guests are mingling maybe watching holiday movies, watching football, or playing a drinking game.

8. Have To-Go Containers

Tell your guests to bring an extra container so they can take leftovers home! You know you'll never see your containers again.

9. Give Thanks

Remember the real reason why you invited all these people to spend the day with you. Tell your friends how much they mean to you.

10. Have Fun

Most importantly Friendsgiving is a time to relax and appreciate your friends, so don’t worry if things aren’t perfect!

Friendsgiving isn’t meant to be stressful, it’s supposed to be an easy way for showing appreciation. Gather everyone together to have a tasty Friendsgiving to celebrate these people who have become blessings in your life. What could be better than having your three favorite things all in one place, food, friends, and alcohol! Enjoy each others company and be thankful. Time to start a new tradition among your friends to create more memories that you can look back on!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
