New year, new me, am I right? Here are some things I’m going to do to try and make that phrase come true
1. Go to bed on time
Having a consistent sleep schedule is very important when it comes to health and wellness. It may take some unconventional methods, but I’m willing to do what it takes. Sleep is my favorite thing — so I definitely should spend more time doing it
2. Work out
Let’s be real here; I want to be ripped. The only way to do that is to work out way more than just the two-days- a week that I do.
3. Write daily
The only way to get better at something is to do it as much as possible. Not only do I want to improve my writing, but it’s also something I enjoy
4. Meditate daily
Nothing improves a person's life and existence like being mindful of it. Meditating is also a great way to relax and reduce stress, which I have a lot of in my life.
5. Defeat the procrastination
My lifelong nemesis is dead to me. Rest in pieces (b. 1999 d. 2017) you won’t be missed. How did it die, you ask? Oh, the newfound resilience (b. 2018) I hope to develop this year.
6. Think more positively
Part of the reason I think everything sucks is that I stew on the bad stuff. Letting go of grudges and being more positive will definitely help me in this area
7. Eat more regularly
I will either go an entire day without food or I’ll eat everything in sight. It’s time to fix this by eating at least two meals and one or two medium to large snacks a day.
8. Eat healthier
If I want to take care of myself, eating the right stuff is a great way to do it. Not an easy thing, but hey, what are resolutions for if not to challenge you?
9. Message my friends more often
The one thing I miss about high school is having at least an hour a day, five days a week, set out for me to see my friends. Now my social life is up to me, and I really should step up my game.
10. Be a better listener
Part of being a good person is how you act around others. This year I want to continue to improve myself and my relationships by listening more genuinely to what people have to say.
A new year is a great excuse to outline how you want to better yourself. I wish anyone with the same lofty goals as I the best of luck.
May we have a successful 2018!
