10 GIFs That Describe How Thanksgiving Break Feels

Thanksgiving Break may be short but oh lord is it sweet! After not being home for approximately 4 months, you are simply begging to get back there! Here are some GIFs that describe the good (and the bad) of Thanksgiving Break!

1. Excited

You get through that last class, your parents will be there soon to get you or you just have to throw one last thing in your car to head out and then you're home free!! Nothing quite beats the feeling of the one thing that stands between you and your freedom coming to an end!

2. Loved

Getting to give your family members a hug when you see them is always great! If you're me, your mom probably cries, no matter how many times you come home and leave again. Let's be honest, it's nice to know you were missed and being reunited with your dog is THE BEST.

3. Stuffed

Even during a normal break, the first thing you want is a home cooked meal, lots of snacks, dinners from your favorites restaurants and NOT dining hall food...literally anything but dining hall food. BUT this is no normal break, this is Thanksgiving...a holiday devoted to you stuffing your face with all the goodies your family makes for special occasions. *drools*

4. Well Rested

The sweet, sweet feeling of being reunited with your bed, your room, your sheets, your pillow...nothing compares. You may adore your roommate, but being able to do whatever you want in your room and sleep alone is such a nice change of pace. Catch up on all the sleep you haven't gotten for the past four months.

5. Smothered

You love 'em, but your family is going to ask about your grades, your major, your friends, if you have a significant other, and SO many other questions that you do NOT feel like answering, at all, ever, and certainly not a million times.

6. Stressed

Going back to school after this break means finals are on the horizon, lots of papers, projects, homework and so much more. Can't we just stay on break for a little bit longer?!

7. Sad

Sometimes being home can remind you of just how much you miss your family when you're away, or maybe being at home reminds you of how much you miss your friends and makes you excited to go back and see them again!

8. Group Hug (is that an emotion? it is now)

Getting to see your friends from home is always great, you get to catch up on the new things in your lives and reminisce the good old days!

9. Lazy

You PROBABLY have homework but you most likely won't be doing it until the last possible moment. Why would you stop procrastinating when you could just watch Netflix and hang out with your dog all day long?

10. Thankful

Hopefully, you're able to feel all the above emotions because you're lucky enough to have family, friends, a home, food on the table, etc. and if you do, don't take those things for granted! Take some time during your break to appreciate all the wonderful things in your life. Happy Thanksgiving!

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…
