My friends know me, my family knows me, but do my readers really know me? I have a mix of Facebook friends and Twitter followers who read my articles every week but I feel like they only know me through my writing. To know my inner thoughts from my writing every week is one thing, but to truly know my personality and my soul is another so here are 10 fun facts about me!

1. Llamas Are My Favorite Animal

It all started when a boy in my 9th grade history class was passing back our homework and said "who's Llama?" and I said, "It's Ilana!" and thus, my nickname was born. I started to research Llamas and I realized how cute and how intelligent they actually are and was immediately drawn to them. I was so fascinated and they're the most gentle of animals that I've come across. Because of this obsession, I own many different Llama items and my collection will only grow.

2. I Love To Make People Laugh

I'm always the type of person to be cracking jokes and even if I don't make people laugh, I'm probably laughing at myself. Laughing is the best medicine and I live for those moments when you laugh so hard that you can't breathe and there's an inaudible noise coming out of your mouth.

3. I Love To Talk In Accents

I like to try out different accents and practice them on my friends. One of my best accents is my New York one. I do this best because I'm from there and my parents have the accent so sometimes I answer them back in their accent. My Abuela has a pretty thick accent so whenever my family and I are talking about something she said, we just have a whole conversation in her cute hispanic accent. Amongst those, I also do Russian and British accents.

4. I Make Random Snapchat Videos

For some reason, I get my random inspiration at night time when I'm half asleep. I could just be sitting in my bedroom and I suddenly get an idea and quickly grab my phone to start recording. At first I thought nobody was actually watching them, but then I would get Snapchat messages and text messages from my friends telling me they just spit out their drink while watching my video. (This is where the making people laugh part comes in).

5. My hair Didn't Use To Be Naturally Curly

Up until the age of 14, I always had straight hair, maybe with a slight wave. I cut it short one day and ever since then, my hair has been curly and there's no going back.

6. I Love The Fall Season

Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday (besides my birthday) and when the Fall season starts, I get into Halloween mode. I plan my costume months in advance, think about my Fall outfits, and I start watching my favorite scary movies. I love anything spooky.

7. Vanilla Scented Anything Is My Favorite

Candles, perfumes, you name it. If I see any fragrance that has vanilla in it, I immediately buy it. I just really like sweet things.

8. I Like Country Music

I was never a huge fan of country music until I moved to FGCU. Now I can't stop listening to it and I have to say, country concerts are a lot of fun!

9. I Love Dancing

Not professionally, but just in general. I have frequent dance parties by myself in my room. If you went to Blu with me every Thursday during college, you know how much I love busting a move, especially when my jam would come on.

10. I Save My Movie Tickets

I have a book of all my ticket stubs from almost every movie that I've seen since 2006. It's nice to look back on and reminisce but also cry when you see how much cheaper the tickets were.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
