As we plunge into the last few days of October, the creepily sensational feelings of Halloween have been ever so present in the air like never before. Associated with those feelings, is the pressure to find the perfect Halloween costume. And sometimes not just one costume, sometimes it's even more than that, especially if you're a college student with a busy social life to attend to. The pressure is real.
For me, I have always felt disgruntled in regards to dressing up for Halloween. It's just not my cup of tea. I rather just wear regular clothes and go about my own business. However, it's unfortunately not the case and I always get sucked into dressing up - even if it's something mediocre. The one thing that I can definitely attest to is that I always have a difficult time choosing what I'm going to be. I usually cater towards more minimalistic costumes or costumes that don't require me spending a lot of money. But even then it's still arduously frustrating fabricating the costume and making sure people can acknowledge what I'm supposed to be.
Whether it's just me, I know that the Halloween costume-picking process can be pretty disheartening. Below I've composed ten, hopefully relatable, different frustrations/concerns that I have almost every year when Halloween comes around:
1. When Halloween is in a few days and you have absolutely no idea what you're going to wear yet.
2. When you have an idea, but you don't have the money to properly emulate it.
3. When Halloween stores/Party City don't have the materials you need to complete your costume.
4. When you feel like you look like a complete fool in whatever you're wearing.
5. What if I'm too hot/cold in what I'm wearing?
6. What if no one knows what I'm trying to be?
7. What if I wear the same costume two nights in a row... and people notice?
8. When you want to resort to what you wore last year.
9. When you and your friends fight over the same costume idea.
10. When you spend so much money on your costume, but realize you'll never wear any of these things ever again.
In lieu of all the frustrations Halloween prep provides, Halloween is usually always a memorable night and the costume you choose shouldn't be that big of a deal. No matter what you end up picking, it'll be sure to work out in the long run.
