10 Types Of Friends You Meet In College

Coming to college can give you a brand new start. You may begin your freshman year without a single friend and that is OK. Don't worry, you will make friends left and right! Once the ball gets rolling you won't be able to stop it. Friends will be made in class, in different clubs on campus, at the gym, on the bus, etc... Friends can be made anywhere! It doesn't stop either, you will continue to make friends every semester if not more often than that.

Here are the friends you will make throughout your years in college:

1. Your first friend

Making your first friend is extremely exciting. You try not to scare them away, but you can't help but be ecstatic that you have made your first college friend.

2. Dorm Friends

Living in close quarters with so many other people kind of forces you to get to know your neighbors. Sooner than you think, you will find yourself hanging out in the common area and saying hello to everyone that passes by.

3. Class friends

The first day of class is so very important no matter what year you are because it will most likely be your seat for the rest of semester. The people who surround you will become your friends because let's be honest, you aren't getting through that accounting class alone.

4. Lab partner

At some point in your college career, you probably have to take a class with a lab of some sort. Whether you get to pick your partner or not, there is a special bond formed between the two of you.

5. The study buddy

College is nothing like high school in the academic realm and you will need at least one study buddy. Try to find at least one in each of your classes so you can ask each other questions and motivate each other to go to the library.

6. The best friend

Through the process of all things college, you will eventually find a friend who you hang out with all of the time, treat like family, and can't see yourself getting through college without. There is no set time for when you will meet your best friend, but trust me you will know when you do.

7. Work friends

Whether you work on-campus or off, work friends are a special type. They get you through the long boring shifts, listen to you rant about your roommates, and sympathize with you when you complain about being tired.

8. Exercise friends

The gym can be a great place to make friends whether you workout on a regular basis, or go to exercise classes from time to time. It's better to workout with someone because you can motivate each other and hold one another accountable.

9. Club friends

The most common regret I hear from people who graduated college is not getting involved right away or at all. There couldn't be a better way to make friends than to join a club! You already share an interest with the people in the club so why not find out what else you have in common.

10. Your future maid of honor

One of the friends you make could turn into someone you want in your life forever. If there was a best friend marriage you would do it, but since there isn't one you get to have them by your side in your wedding.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
