10 Great Foods To Eat At The Beach

Summer is finally here and what better way to celebrate the greatest time of the year than to go to the beach with your best buds on a sunny afternoon? I love eating at the beach but it could be a huge disappointment on a windy day when sand gets in all your food you had nicely packed away. These ten foods are sure to never disappoint and make it a whole lot easier to eat at the beach in peace without any interruptions.

1. Fruits and Veggies

Both fruits and vegetables are great treats to bring to the beach, especially since they are both yummy and good for you. To avoid getting undesired sand into your perfectly cut fruit and veggies, bring utensils, that way you can eat without munching down on any sand.

2. Chips

Be able to munch on a small snack throughout the day by bringing all different kinds of chips with you. Doing various activities at the beach can be very tiring and you may need some snack to keep the energy up.

3. Fresh Lemonade

Who doesn't love lemonade on a hot summer day? Make your own lemonade or buy some at your local grocery store along with disposable plastic cups plus tops for those cups so you won't spill your drink or get sand in it either. To make it even more fun, bring mason jars with tops and straws to keep your refreshing drink in!

4. Trail Mix

Trail mix is a great snack that is extremely easy to make and is great for the beach. Since it is made up of so many different, dry ingredients, it won't be the end of the world if a couple grains of sand get into it (but, of course, still avoid it at all costs since sand is dirty).

5. Different foods on skewers

By putting your favorite foods on skewers, it is easier to eat especially if there is no Purell or fresh water to clean your hands with. Any food can go onto skewers including chopped cheese, chicken, peppers, and so much more.

6. Pasta Salad

Pasta salad is a great summertime side dish for any lunch or dinner menu. The best part about it is that any fresh ingredient you want can go into it and, with the help of utensils, it is a great, healthy food to take on your trip.

7. Ice Pops

Ice pops are both easy to make and a great, cold treat to bring on a hot summer day. When making your own, add fresh fruit inside to make it more natural as well as delicious!

8. Wraps

Wraps are great because they keep food tucked away and easier to eat with when on the beach. Instead of using your normal bread, switch it out for a pita or tortilla wrap to ensure your food stays where it's supposed to be and not in the sand.

9. Granola Bars

Both homemade and bought granola bars are absolutely delicious and a great sweet, healthy treat for the end of a meal and throughout the day for a quick snack while enjoying yourself at the beach!

10. Cookies

Just like granola bars, cookies are a delicious sweet snack to have after an equally delicious meal.

The Battle Between College And My Mental Health

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
