Ugh, dreaded finals week...

10 Things You Need To Get Through Finals

The end of semester is coming and all of the assignments are piling up. Every professor seems to team up and make everything due at the same time. You feel as if there is no hope and you have considered dropping out at least once per hour. As finals are quickly approaching, there are several things that I think are must-haves when it comes to surviving finals.

1. Coffee

Coffee is the number one way to gain energy! It is the best caffeinated drink ever! Drink this and you are sure to succeed and maybe even stay up all night.

2. Relax

Be sure to take time aside from studying to relax and not worry about anything. Put the studying away and maybe watch an episode or two on Netflix.

3. Take breaks

When studying be sure to not load up just on one subject. Spend an equal amount of time on each subject. I always study thirty minutes on each subject with a five minute break in between.

4. Study

This is obvious! The only way you can make sure you put forth an effort is by at least studying a bit before you take your final. You don't have to study in the library you can always study in groups or outside. Just make sure you stay focused.

5. Don't get distracted

Take time away from social media and texting to focus on the thing you are school for. Turn off your phone or put it on silent that way you can still focus!

6. Eat healthy

Be sure to take time out of your day to eat, you want to make sure you are staying hydrated.

7. Divide your time

Be sure to set a schedule so that you can make sure you are eating, studying and still able to sleep. You can't give up your life for studying.

8. Did I say coffee?

Oh yeah, and in case you didn't realize it, caffeine is important!

9. Sleep

You need to lay down and get more than a few hours of sleep! Don't try and pull an all-nighter. It may seem smart at the time, but trust me, you will regret it in the morning.

10. Exercise

Sometimes a 30-minute run at the gym is something to get your mind off of all the junk of studying. Plus, it keeps you in shape!

Now, with these 10 things you are sure to have a somewhat successful exam week. Now, put you best foot forward and study hard.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

10 Things Only Equestrians Understand

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
