10 Fictional Deaths I Will Never Get Over

It happens to the best of us: We get emotionally invested in a movie, book, or TV show and when a character dies, we are devastated, and we sometimes feel like it is the death of a real person. Here is my list of the 10 fictional characters whose deaths I will never get over.

(Warning: Proceed with caution, this list may contain spoilers.)

1. Mufasa from The Lion King

When watching Simba shake his dad and try to get him to "wake up," there isn't a dry eye in the house. It gets me every time.

2. Dobby from the Harry Potter series

Up until the very end, Dobby was a kind and loving elf who would do anything for his friend Harry Potter. At least he got to a die as a free elf.

3. Prim from The Hunger Games series

Prim's death is so heartbreaking and frustrating, because all of Katniss' work to save her sister's life now means nothing.

4. Augustus Waters from The Fault in Our Stars

Another one that gets me every time. It's just so unfair that someone so young and so in love doesn't get to enjoy his life.

5. Marley from Marley and Me

I'm sure that this movie really hit home for all of the dog owners/lovers out there. Our pets become like our best friends, so this death really struck a chord.

6. Jack Dawson from Titanic

You knew going into the film that it couldn't end well, but that doesn't make Jack's death any less emotional. Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" doesn't help the tears stop either.

7. Tris Prior from The Divergent Series

If you haven't finished the series or are waiting to see the movie, I'm sorry that I ruined it for you. I did give you a warning! This death makes me sad, because her and Four were such a great couple, and no one likes to see the death of a main character once you've read so much about them, and you feel like you actually know them.

8. Thomas from My Girl

"He can't see without his glasses" is one of the most heartbreaking phrases I have ever heard. The love and pure joy these two had for one another just makes the death of a young child even more painful.

9. Emma from Terms of Endearment

Watching Emma say goodbye and give some final advice to her children gets me every time. You just imagine this family having to move on after such a devastating loss, and the tears just won't stop.

10. Seemingly half the cast of Grey's Anatomy

There are so many devastating deaths on Grey's Anatomy that I couldn't pick just one. I can still picture Izzie in her pink prom dress, laying in bed with the dead Denny Duquette. I can see George tracing 007 into Meredith's hand before he dies. And the plane crash episodes are devastating, where we lose both Lexie Grey and Mark Sloan. There are so many other deaths that are heartbreaking as well. This show certainly isn't for those who can't deal with some tears.

So, there's my list. Kudos to you if you made it through this whole article without some crying of your own (or at least the urge to cry).

The Post Thanksgiving Panic And Anxiety

It happens to all of us, the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas the catch up with you.

Thanksgiving Break is most likely everyone’s favorite break during the fall semester. You get to go home and reminisce with all your high school friends. That diet you’ve been on for the past month goes out the window, and you get to eat until you put yourself into a food coma. There’s no rush on homework and you can just lie in bed and Netflix to your heart’s content. To me that sounds like an ideally wonderful break, and totally stress-free.

Grey's Anatomy

Even Shonda Rhimes, winning creator and executive producer of the hit TV shows Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, and The Catch agrees that relationships with fictional characters are real. In her book, The Year of Yes she states, "I have spent more time with Meredith and Christina then many of my actual friends...When you watched TV, even spending a full hour with Christina once a week, you were likely spending more time with her then you spent with most people in your life. That relationship was real."

Going to the gym and working out on a daily basis (with breaks once in awhile) has been a great way for me to feel good about myself. It is 100% more than just looking good. Especially after starting college and having the stress and anxiety of tests, assignments, and just figuring out my future, the gym at my school has definitely been a place of relief for me and I have numerous reasons of why everyone should push themselves to get to the gym when they can.
