Bustle

Have you spent the past few months absorbed in the election and now find yourself with nothing to look forward to? As the temperatures drop and school semesters start winding down, the end of the year brings immense excitement. Start your countdown now because the end of 2016 will be so much more fun than politics.

1. Colder Weather

Finally, an excuse to bring out the boots and scarves! It’s time to embrace one of the best parts about November, fall. Embrace the change in leaves, as well as wardrobe. The days might be getting shorter, however, you have an excuse to build a fire and cuddle up.

2. Thanksgiving

Not only do we get a short break from school and work but also a time to reunite with family. This is the holiday to show your gratitude. Be grateful for some delicious food (and the subsequent nap) among sweet family.

3. Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

It’s the official beginning of Christmas. No matter your age, the parade is a must-see for the magical floats and entertaining musical numbers. Sit around with family and simply enjoy the wonderful reason to smile.

4. Black Friday

Whether you’re a midnight camper or an online spender, Black Friday deals are the best. Start gathering the Christmas lists early and take advantage of bargains. If the crowds stress you, don’t worry—Amazon still has free shipping.

5. College Football

The Saturday after Thanksgiving equals rival team showdowns. It’s time to root for your favorite school, even if friends try to tease you. Even though tickets are impossible to find, a homemade party will always be fun.

6. TV Revivals

If you don’t already have Netflix, now is a great time as they are bringing a few new releases in the upcoming weeks. The second season of Fuller House is coming December 9th, and judging by the trailer, this season is going to be as heartfelt and wonderful as the first. Additionally, the first installment of Gilmore Girls: A Year In the Life is coming November 25th and the excitement is real.

7. Seasonal Starbucks

You know Christmas is just around the corner when Starbucks finally releases the red cups. Before they run out, head on over for a classic seasonal favorite. From Pumpkin Spice Lattes to Peppermint Mochas, these drinks will for sure keep you warm.

8. 25 Days of Christmas

Even though ABC Family is now Freeform, the beloved movie marathon is for sure to bring the holiday cheer. Set your recordings early and tune in to the classic Christmas favorites. By this point in the year, Christmas is so close and you couldn’t be any more excited.

9. New Movie Releases

December always brings a new set of outstanding films. This year, quite a few anticipated releases will be hitting the big screen, including Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, J.K. Rowling’s newest addition to the Wizarding World, and Moana, a new Disney animation centered in Hawaii. Of course, don’t forget Rogue One, the exciting new Star Wars story. Get your tickets early for this end-of-the-year excitement.

10. Christmas

Probably the most anticipated event to look forward to as 2016 comes to a close is the Christmas holiday. Here’s the time to get together with family and celebrate sweet memories. Enjoy the decorations, Christmas carols and hot chocolate throughout the wonderful gift-giving season.

If the presidential election was the only think you were looking forward to this November and beyond, have no fear. The year 2016 might be ending; however, there are so many great events and treats to keep looking forward to.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads.
